Food was good-not great. Service was lacking which may be expected during the holidays. I was also there for dinner about a week ago and not very good service then either.

The food was amazing. Service and Ambiance, not so much. We only saw the server 3 times, to give us water, and check in after food was brought by someone else and when the check was given. He was not attentive at all, we were seated by a filthy wall, and drinks made at the bar were gross. It was an overall not-so-great experience. Inside was not decorated at all considering all the festive things outside, staff wasn't friendly or look like they knew what was going on - if it was not for the food, I would not be returning

It was unexpectedly a disappointing visit, but the manager was gracious and didn’t make excuses…just comped our bill. So therefore I feel compelled to say thank you and we will try again. We made reservations weeks in advance so we could go ice skating for my daughters birthday afterwards. (But service was so delayed we almost had to nix the skating.) Food was delicious once we got it (1hr15min after ordering), drinks were not so delicious after waiting 45 minutes for those. Music was really nice, but a little loud for the echoing concrete lobby room (but I’m sure I requested inside the actual restaurant weeks beforehand in our open table reservation). Thank you Manager for finally getting involved and trying to make things right!

French toast was soggy. Sausage was cold. Took 15 to 20 minutes to get hot sausage, server brought it after we finished our meal. We had 4 diners. Another person said her food was so-so and doesn’t plan to come back. One diner had the hot brown - it was good but not as good as previous visits. Took more than 15 minutes to get a cup of coffee. Server was unorganized, whenever she came to the table, she had an excuse for what she forgot. There were at least 4 different times she came to the table and she mentioned she forgot something. She brought out our checks with no pens. Our holiday lunch with friends was disappointing. The food was cold and just fair. Server disappeared and wasn’t attentive. Overall it was a poor, frustrating and disappointing experience that put a damper on our Christmas brunch. As the person who suggested The Cafe, the entire experience made me look bad in front of my friends. I’ve been coming to the restaurant for years, since it was in the antique mall. It’s not the same. Service is not good, and the quality of the food has declined. Such a shame. This place used to be a gem and a top brunch spot. Today it was a waste of money. The server not dealing with our cold food and then bringing it at the end of the meal after we were finished, says it all.

During the holiday season I highly recommend a reservation regardless of the time you plan to arrive. We arrived at 12 for a 12:15 reservation and stood in line to check in. We were seated by 12:30 after a brief wait for a clean table. The restaurant was decorated for the holidays and had Christmas music playing in the background. The small room on the left is where we were seated and it was extremely loud and difficult to talk amongst ourselves. Our waiter was hard to flag down! He was covering the bar area and a few other tables on the floor. We were seated for 20 minutes before he came over to take our drink order. When our sandwiches came out, we did not receive our soups, and it was another 10-15 minutes before the waiter made an appearance to check on us. Trying to get our bill to leave was another long wait. The food tasted amazing (as usual)! Great portions. Great flavors. There was only one person bussing tables and he was working super fast! We admired his commitment and hustle, hope he gets a holiday bonus! The moral of this story is if you plan a trip for lunch during the holiday season, bring your patience!

Restaurant was closed due to a private event so our reservation was not honored. Very disappointing.
