Every Christmas Eve, we go out for dinner, having wrapped the presents, etc. The waitress had just come on duty and had obviously not been debriefed on what or was not available. There were a multitude of discrepancies between the descriptions on the menu and what arrived on the plate - seared scallops that weren't, pea puree that wasn't, dauphinois potatos that were mashed, apple and cinnamon compote that didn't arrive until we enquired as to its whereabouts (and was disgusting), glazed brussel sprouts that also didn't appear until we complained - turned out to be boiled. To cap a memorable evening, the cappuchinos were luke warm at best - and the lady receiving my reluctant bill settlement proudly claimed that she made them. Never again.

We had a pleasant meal a good menu plenty of choice staff very nice but did not seem many on.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and took great care in any dietary requirements but we had to remind them we were missing vegetables. The food was lovely but it wasn't piping hot which has caused me to drop the level of my grading in this review, which is a shame. If they overcame that slight failing they would've had top marks.

I don’t have an evening with my family very often, and when I do, I want to go somewhere nice with great food and good customer service. The booking for our table of 7 was for 7:30 and we finally sat down to order at 8:30. Ok, these things happen where other customers take their time to enjoy their meals, but when you are informed by the manager that their online system allows the venue to “triple” book, I was not impressed. Our table was in an area which was cold with the radiators turned off. After asking repeatedly to turn the heating on, they eventually did so. We sat for 10 mins chatting and looking through the menu and making the choices for our dinner. The waiter then came over to take our order and informed us that most of the choices on the menu were no longer available and we were limited to what we could have. Not a great start. The food was average and nothing special. We made the most of the evening, enjoying our family time. The waiter did his best to look after us and we thanked him for this. The management did provide our table with free wine which certainly helped and I thought this was a great way to show their understanding. The Management at The Titchfield Mill need to get their act together. Customers are the most important thing you have, and without them, you have no business. Unfortunately The Titchfield Mill is now off my list and we will not be back.

Apart from the waitress constantly checking if we had eaten our food, she couldn't wait to take our plates away. We hadn't finished eating. Also when we eventually had finished, she took my drink away that was half empty. When I approached her she just shrugged her shoulders and walked off. The meal was lovely. We had the Cheeseburgers. Very tasty. Also my sister nearly fell in Car park as very poorly lit.

A business lunch was held at the Mill, at 12:15 23/11/2018... first thing ordered off the menu, ale pie, was not available, the second item fish pie , was not available... really... it was lunchtime and start of service. Generally the meals were not presented nicely, my onion rings were mushy and cold... An attending lady visitor in our party was not impressed with the Ladies lavatory, broken seat and no soap???? No complaints were made on the day due to the nature of the working lunch and not to embarrass the international visitor present...Instead we will not use this restaurant again.

We went with our friend for lunch on Saturday 12/05/18 having dined at the Mill on numerous occasions, since we moved into the area and without any issues. But this Saturday was horrendous, the first problem a person had to be moved from our reserved table (not the staffs fault) We ordered 2 x ham eggs & chips (large = £21.90) & 1 x black pearl scallops & cheesy garlic flatbread very poor indeed We will return to the Titchfield Mill but NEVER on a weekend……..

Maybe an unlucky experience. An early Sunday lunch booking but they had run out of large parts of the menu and had issues with their soft drinks dispenser so could only provide bottled drinks.

Superb food in a lovely setting. Excellent service from all staff that we encountered from the minute we walked in. Will definitely be returning and recommending others to visit.
