   Had an almost private room for our party of 10. Great service. Everyone loved their dinners. It’s not inexpensive but a wonderful splurge for our family’s Christmas and birthdays celebration.

   Our go-to steak house San Francisco. The atmosphere, service, and food are amazing. The servers are friendly and courteous. The steaks we had were cooked to perfection. The wine list is extensive. We will be back.

   Very slow service for dinner at a table in the piano bar. 20+ mins to get first drink after being seated - food came out very slow. Ordered the filet medium - it was served bleeding red. When asked about gluten ingredients in one of the side dishes - took 20min to let us know after it was served. Very nice people, but no real sense of urgency. This was our second time at the Vault - disappointed with this visit.

   We were promised an enchanting evening by our server. However he and the team failed to deliver on the service. Drinks took a long time to be received after ordering. The sommelier, decanted our wine, but did not offer to serve it and he left. After awhile we served ourselves. While ordering our main courses one of the guests asked if a dish could be prepared in a way to avoid an allergy. She was prompted to give a second choice in case the first could not be prepared in a safe way. The waiter never got back to her and simply delivered the second choice with the main courses. Appetizers came with one missing. Our waiter was no where to be found. After everyone else was almost done the last appetizer came (still no waiter). The server told us what was ordered takes longer to make than the other appetizers that is why it came later. Really? The main course took a really long time to be delivered. The food was very good, but service and therefore supervision was unfortunately not. Not sure if we will go back - too bad because the food was very good.

    There were some standouts from the food that we ordered, but a couple menu items were just so-so. For a steakhouse, we were disappointed that they didn’t change out our silverware for steak knives and new forks, a detail that elevates the experience. We ordered their house Cesar salad, prepared tableside. Our server recommended that we order one order for our table of 6, which was a great recommendation but when the salad was served uncut, we were cutting up the salad to share and distribute ourselves. At other comparable streakhouses we’ve been to that offer tableside service, you are usually served individually. The steaks were all very well cooked and did not disappoint. However the sides were just ok, and at steakhouses the sides are as important as the steaks. Nothing was bad, our server was lovely but the overall attention to detail in service and food (sides) were not what we have experienced at other steakhouses.
