Located in the heart of the Burwash High Weald, The Wheel Inn is a traditional, family run country pub offering quality beers and ales, hand selected wines and spirits, alongside a menu of traditional British pub fayre and open wood fire pizza oven.
Our large back garden offers a perfect summer lunch spot, also a great space for families with our brand new children’s play area. For colder months, our cosy open fires warm the chillier evenings, creating that traditional tranquil English pub feel.

    Good food and service yet choice was a bit limited - although probably due to covid. Would definitely recommend.

    food is extremely good, had a delicious pork belly roast and fish and chips. very good service. Very cosy and friendly pub, would definitely recommend

    Really fantastic food for similar prices to many pubs with more mediocre food in the area. Would return and recommend to others.

    The Roast beef slimy and we was not able to cut it, but after talking to the waitress they took the beef of the menu. Replaced with Turkey. Which was a shame as was looking forward to roast beef. Turkey was ok. Service was good.

    Poor selection of bitters/beers available which is unfortunate given the Lakedown Taproom is less than a mile away. The roast beef was beautiful, however a sharp knife would have been better than those provided. Sadly the parsnips were totally undercooked. Not sure we would return.

    Main problem was that the online menu did not reflect the menu actually available. The online menu suggests a reasonably full range of nice-looking dishes, in reality the menu gave a choice of fish and chips, sausages and mash, halloumi or burger (plus various filled ciabattas). Really wasn't what we were led to expect by the website. On the upside, the fish and chips were very good, but unfortunately the sausages weren't. Overall, therefore, we were quite disappointed.
