As usual they never fail to please. Food was excellent and staff were friendly. As regulars we walk in and they lead us to our table and remember our drinks. The ambience was brilliant and it’s their little touches that always make for a pleasant evening.

The White Horse was recommended to us and it did not disappoint. Upon arrival after a lovely short rural drive from Chester there was ample parking at front and back. We entered the premises which had a charming bar with 2 roaring log fires and a very friendly, beaming smile and greeting. We had pre booked and were shown to our table in the dining area to the rear. Lovely decor and a beautiful open, light and airy space at the back. We had a wide choice of meals and drinks and opted to go from the sharing Valentines menu. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly, attentive and professional and my partner even commented on the lovely feeling she was getting from staff and other customers. We had a Charcuterie board starter and chateaubriand main. All of the food was quickly served and cooked to perfection. We passed on dessert as the portions were plentiful. The price was very reasonable for what we got and we can't wait to go again.

Always great. Staff are lovely and have service off to a fine art. The camembert to share as a starter was truly excellent, as were the fish & chips & the burger. The beer & the sauvignon blanc were pretty special too.

Slightly disappointing visit to be honest. Table was close by to the bar, locals were crowded in watching a rugby match and were clearly put out at diners being there as well. Our table was booked for 3pm on a Sunday. Both ourselves and our guests wanted the 19oz sirloin of beef to share, but they had only had one left after being open for three hours. Seemed rather odd for a Sunday service. The food was of good quality when it arrived. Think we would have preferred to have been in the main dining room too, as our table was particularly draughty as well. Our friend ate his full meal in his coat. Waitress was pleasant enough, but wouldn’t say overly friendly.

For a Saturday night it was very quiet. Not much atmosphere, food was ok but not inspiring. I'll stick to their Sunday lunches which are exceptional

Music a bit too loud. Gravy a bit watery and not hot enough. Needed more roast potatoes and another veg.

From the moment we stepped in through the door, the staff and venue are top, top quality. The ambience on a Friday night was amazing- we were quickly taken to our table and drinks order taken immediately. Good choice was great, starters brought swiftly and mains were fabulous. Great value and can’t recommend it enough. Many thanks to Jo and her team
