The table was not set for us even though I booked afternoon tea in advance. The food was very basic not very well presented. The savouries were large chunks of cheese and slices of meat the sausage rolls were not freshly made and soggy. The meat in the sandwiches were thickly sliced beef and pork and very tough. The scones were warm which was nice. The most unpleasant thing was the infestation of flies on our food. There did not appear to be any insect deterrents in the restaurant at all. All in all I thought it was very expensive for what we were given and I would not recommend it to anyone I’m afraid.

We decided to eat here for my birthday meal with my parents after previously having several lovely visits. However we ended up waiting around 45 minutes just for two very basic starters (mushrooms on toast and prawn cocktail) we then had another long wait for our mains. Such a shame and so disappointing.

A lovely experience. Super friendly staff could not be more welcoming and helpful. Beautiful old building with tons of character. Good food is a little pricey but hat won't stop us from returning.

Food quality didn’t match prices, kids food not very kid friendly and wasn’t served on a suitable plate for a nearly 2 year old. Toilets also not clean.

My friend and I enjoyed an enjoyable and relaxing afternoon tea together in quiet surroundings where we could comfortably hold a conversation. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was delicious. We had an extra pot of tea and the cakes that we couldn't eat because we were too full, they wrapped in foil beautifully in the shape of a swan to take home. I would recommend this place to others.

Arrived at 12:30 as booked, but it took 30 minutes for the order to be taken and a further 40 minutes until the food arrived. The food was excellent! It clearly cooked to order.

Excellent service for an afternoon tea. Food was good but the fruit scones were a little too hard otherwise very nice and good value.
