Decided to go for a nice dinner for New Years Eve.Made reservation for 6:45 and sat in bar till table was ready. we ordered appetizers, escargot and wilbur salad and both were very good. Then something happened with our dinner order.People came and went in our room, and there were empty tables so waiter was not that busy. we waited over an hour for our entrees after they cleared appetizers. the waiter gave us the first update that dinner would be out shortly, waited again, then came back later with another excuse about plating. Finally after an hour and a half our dinners arrived. at this point was just ready to leave, didnt feel like eating. I am disappointed in the kitchen/ service as someone dropped the ball. Other people came in and were served, so I believe our order was lost in the kitchen and someone should have owned to it and apologized. Was suspicious when the front of house person delivered my meal, since he didnt do it for anyone else in our room. Put a downer on our evening .

We enjoyed the ambiance and restoration of the facility. Our meals were very good and reasonably priced. However, the drinks were priced well above average. The only negative was the delay in being seated fifteen minutes past our reservation time with many empty tables visible. Our server was friendly and courteous, but the meals took quite a while to arrive. Believe they may have been short staffed. We will definitely return and have already recommended the venue to friends.

We were a group of 6, seated in a separate room from main dining but next to the Kitchen, where the servers were coming in and out and had to pass our tables frequently where we had to move our chairs in and then back out again. Cocktails were ordered and took a long time to receive them, for which one had to be remade; one guest had her food served cold. We had to ask the manager to have someone clear our dishes. We felt that since we were in a separate room, the waitress kept forgetting us. Our food took almost an hour to be served to us. We told the server that we needed separate checks for the couples but when it came time to pay, she gave one check. We returned it to be corrected. We complained to the manager and he was to take off the entree that was served cold, but did not. He did take off our beverages because of the time it took to be served. Our reservations were at 6:30 and we left at just short of 9pm. Service was horrible. I know it was New Years Eve, but if the Wilbur Mansion did not have enough staff, they should not have accepted as many reservations. It was an extremely unpleasant experience.

My boyfriend and I ordered the African Lobster Tail and the Filet. The food was good, ambience beautiful, ordered six oysters for an appetizer, received five. I mentioned this to the waitress. I then ordered another round of six oysters and shrimp cocktail. Received the six oysters but ran out of shrimp cocktail which they took one of the oysters off due to the inconvenience. Ok, whatever things happen. The problem came to the wait time. It look forever for us to receive our entree. Boyfriend overheard the waitress as he exited the bathroom telling her helper, oh I hope that is table fives food. And we did not complain whatsoever. She even realized how long it was taking. Everyone else around had received their food. This was a tad bit ridiculous since our bill came to 180 dollars. It is unfortunate because this is a place I wanted to return to.

We loved our experience at the Wilbur mansion. Great food and experience. Only complaints would be too loud of music and they didn’t do anything to accommodate our special occasion. Otherwise, would go back!

Everything was perfect, the building is amazing! Eric, our server was on top of his game! The food was top notch. We had the mezza platter as an appetizer and it was unbelievable! For our dinner we had the filet, which was a very large filet, and also the blackened mahi mahi that was fresh and delicious. The mashed potatoes and cheesy grits complimented the meals perfectly. The price was very reasonable for the amount of food we got. We will definitely be back!
