Service by Kath was excellent. However, we were disappointed in the chowder and the striped bass. We found the clams still In their shells in the chowder very strange and messy to deal with, especially when dressed for dinner in fine dining restaurant. The smoky flavor from the pork and/or bacon was much too strong. It took away from the enjoyment of the clams and what should have been a more creamy base. The striped bass was fresh but the piece that was served was mostly very dark flesh, which had a strong unpleasant flavor. We have had striped bass in many other restaurants and never been served such an unpleasant piece of fish. We regret not sending it back to the kitchen but we were under time constraints and did not have time to wait for a replacement. The saving grace to our meal was the chocolate cake that we had for dessert.

Unfortunately we had a very bad experience. The waitress was overwhelmed and not attentive. The drinks came out at separate times and the meals were also served sporadically. Menu is too limited . The manager sent over a complimentary piece of cake at the end as she realized that we were not given the proper attention. Nice touch but we won’t go back there.

I’ve had mixed experiences at this place - some great meals, some not so good. The building is beautiful and the outdoor area is great. For food you can always count on the oysters. But I had the bass and it was small and buried under greens. The taste was just ok. I will go back but am reticent to recommend it until they get more consistent.

I live in Duxbury and take all my guests to dinner at the Winsor house. It never fails to deliver. Love it!

We had a request from one of our friends to go to Windsor House so we went! I truly dislike having to give you a charge card to reserve a table….so unnecessary since there were plenty of tables available. Nonetheless, I did it. The hostess/host were very nice, our waitress was extremely patient and kind with us with ordering. But the food was pricey and basically just adequate. Nothing exceptional to speak of and for the money, not what we were expecting! Sorry about that!

Oysters and Vongole were absolutely delicious. The garlic toast at the end of the meal was a nice touch to finish the delicious sauce.

Sat outside which was nice. Smaller patio area but pleasant. Oysters were very good. The broccoli app was very good and interesting. Steak frites was done well. Tuna nicoise was good but did lack pure nicoise as no hard boiled egg and dressing was not so tasty but tuna was good. We will be back as usually a nice meal.
