   Fantastic Sunday dinner. We ordered the beef and lamb; the size of the portion was more than enough, I’ve never had this “issue” before at a Michelin guide restaurant and was most welcome. The roast potatoes were also worth a mention, the classic crunchy exterior with the fluffy white potato. Could do with more veg and gravy per person but both still exceptionally tasty. Overall, a fantastic meal and broadly value for money; expect to pay around the £120 mark - caveat is dependant on the amount of alcohol you might like to accompany your meal.

   Booked here based on listing in Michelin but wasn’t informed in advance a special menu was on offer due to it being Mothering Sunday. Food was ok decent Sunday lunch fare but always hard to do this well and a shame there wasn’t more on offer.

   The food was wonderful; great British local food. Lovely to be sat by the kitchen and see how the chefs communicate and manage service. The wait staff were attentive and talked us through the menu. We would definitely go again

   Food was ok overall but was missing flavour and seasoning however the lamb was very tasty but a little too big for a tasting menu portion. Service was underwhelming with no consistency. Had to ask for empty glasses to be removed from table twice, had to pour our own wine and had to keep asking for water rather than it being left on table or kept topped up. Maybe our expectations were too high. Pace of food service was nice.

   It was difficult to choose as all dishes sounded wonderful but eventually both my husband and I opted for the skate dish and it was sublime!
