Tootles & French is a Wine Bar & Bistro located in the heart of Astoria, by Astorians for Astorians. In addition to 20 wines by the glass and over 100 by the bottle, our beverage selection includes wine-infused cocktails, sangrias, and specialty spirits. Our food pairings feature curated charcuterie boards, small plates, as well as full sized entrees and house-made gelato. Serving a new menu seasonally, we are proud of our Chef Jose Luis' unique take on American and French dishes with a Mexican influence and many more surprises. We have private lounge backspace to host any party or gatherings for up to 35 people!

So my experience was not terrible, but I was expecting so much more and I must say that the owner made it her business to satisfy my needs! I didn’t expect a call back from her and that felt genuine! I’m going to be honest, the food was good, but I think it could be better and I think I’m gonna give it another try. I’m not gonna give up on this place.

We had been told to visit this restaurant by family in the neighborhood and had missed the opportunity. Happily we made our way there early on a Friday night. After having been in NYC for a week and eating out every day at excellent restaurants, we both agreed that this was our favorite meal of the week. We both started with a signature cocktail, the Pink Sky, which is
African tequila, aperitivo, rosé-chili syrup, citrus, soda. We shared the coq au vin wings, which were exceptional. I wish I had ordered my own fill serving they are that good. We then followed this with the roast chicken, perfectly cooled with a good quantity of sautéed mushrooms and creamy mashed potatoes. It is a very good sized portion, of which I could only eat half. We accompanied this with wines by the glass. There is a nice selection. For dessert we had creme brulee, which is ubiquitous in general but extraordinary here. We also received an ice cream dish on the house. Charlie, the head sommelier, and other staff are so helpful, knowledgeable and good spirited. Service is impeccable. It was really a perfect meal and we left very happy.

Incredible food from appetizer to entree. Great drinks & service. We tried the wings to start, very crispy & well flavored. Next was branzino and short rib ragu - phenomenal taste and good portion. With a side of spinach, delish!

Had an amazing brunch at Tootles and French for my boyfriend’s birthday on Sunday, and it definitely exceeded our expectations! The menu isn’t overwhelming and every dish we had was flavorful and well-executed. The cocktails were great, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality.
The owner was incredibly welcoming—he even gave us a house liquor on the way out as a thank you and shared details about their upcoming events (which I’m excited to check out!). A highlight was the live music, which was such a pleasant surprise—perfect volume, adding to the atmosphere without being too loud.
Definitely a new favorite spot in Astoria, and I can’t wait to come back!
