Ever since Tops Diner was established in 1942, our focus has always been to serve what our customers want, exactly when and how they want it. As the American dining culture shifts, we recognize we must strive to recreate the 1920’s renaissance that birthed the diner as we know it today, all the while preserving the historical and cultural identity that made Tops Diner the model all others hope to emulate.

By constantly evolving, we ensure our ability to provide a diverse menu of high quality options with the speed of service we’ve all become accustomed to, providing the uniquely satisfying experience synonymous with the Tops Diner name. Our hope is that we can grow as our clients do, and continue to serve both our Newark family, and our community at large.

    I love Tops. The food is delicious all the time the menu is exquisite. The portions are great. The prices aren’t bad either. I love Tops. I recommend it to everyone.

    Great food always! My brother and I arrived during the noon lunch hour. It was definitely busy and that was to be expected. However, we sat down and for several minutes, no one came to our table. Servers walked by and there seem to be someone on a managerial level standing near our table who finally came over to let us know that we would soon be waited on, and that they would check to see if our server was in the bathroom. It seemed to me that our server was a bit overwhelmed, although he was a really nice guy. The server was OK and he was doing his very best but we felt a bit left on our own. We ordered dessert and we had no forks or napkins, we sat for awhile and had to ask another server. We finally got a fork and still had no napkins While it was not the worst experience we have ever had; I can say that it fell a bit beneath our past experiences which have always been stellar at Tops. We will definitely be back because we love eating here so much and we believe that our experience in the future will be as we have come to expect: excellent.

    I don't like being made to wait for a table when my entire party is present and I have reservations. If I have reservations at 8, I expect to wait at max 5mins to be seated. The wait time was a little ridiculous last nite.

    I don’t suggest going during lunch the wait was 45 minutes long .

    I love the atmosphere. The food was great. The staff was good. The bathrooms were clean the floors clean the table was clean every time we finished eating they came over to clear the plates and the glass this place get five stars from me actually I go all the time
