   I want to love everything about this restaurant, but they don’t have it all figured out yet. Given the caliber of the Massimo Bottura team, one expects the service and food to be exceptional and consistent. We have been there three times in the short time since the restaurant opened, yet they don’t recognize that we’re frequent guests. Those grace notes, or lack thereof, make a huge difference in a city where we have so many great dining options.

   What an amazing meal and service!! Don't miss the cóctel di gamberi, pizzas, modena burger (colab between the chef Massimo and Shake Shack) tortellini and caccio e pepe. Fantastic environment - sat once inside and once on the beautiful terrace for lunch. So awesome to get this gem in Miami!

   I requested a dessert with candles for my wife’s birthday which was confirmed over the phone by the restaurant (they even asked about the spelling for the name in the dessert message) but it was never brought to the table.

   Very hard to get there, all streets are blocked by construction. Should send driving and parking instructions upon reservation.

   Torno Subito (“Be right back”) - Miami The colors are vibrant, very “Miami” but the space was familiar. Like I was “right back” in Casa Maria Luigia… but I only had to fly 3 hours instead of a transatlantic flight and car ride into Modena. We showed up for our reservation just after noon, and were immediately seated, the only diners in the restaurant… do people in Miami eat later than New Yorkers?? To be fair noon is early for us too. Torno Subito Miami opened in August of this year and is run by Chef Bernardo Paladini, who has worked with the Francescana family for a decade. You can tell he’s put in the work with the incredible flavors of his dishes, reminiscent of our experience in Italy. Cocktails were constructed in partnership with Dante NYC and were pretty different and solid (of note, a lot of Dante influence in Miami). We ordered a la carte, starting with the Modern Salad. Sooo… Good! It might look like a dull batch of lettuce accented by some parmesan crisps, but there are colorful dots bursting with flavor that reminded me of the psychedelic plate of veal (see CML post #2). We ordered three pastas (obviously!) and have to admit our favorite wasn’t the renowned tortellini, which I often still dream about. We actually preferred the freshness of the Riviera, with its perfectly chewy clams and al dente spaghetti pasta. We ended with the delectable key lime pie, which as you might guess pays homage to the famous lemon tart dessert. (Yes I am biased, but…) Bottura never disappoints! It’s been a while since I’ve posted. Honestly, thought I’d be “right back”… I guess I just needed the right motivation!

   We have better expectations coming from Massimo Bottura . Food was ok but nothing to remember. Restaurant is located in downtown where we didn’t feel safe walking .

   Amazing! Everything was perfect. They offered an amuse bouche that was delicious. We had scallops and the salad for starters and tagliatelle and risotto for main. We finished with the best tiramisu of our lives!
