Tucked behind El Barrio Cantina in Long Beach, Tokyo Noir is an intimate 25-seat speakeasy with a side-alley entrance and world-class cocktail program, co-concepted by restaurateur/founder Jesse Duron and acclaimed mixologist Kevin Lee. As the only certified Ice Master outside of Japan, Lee has created a cocktail menu at Tokyo Noir that will make it a destination for serious bar culture fans, who want to experience the art and craft of cocktailing. The beverages are complemented by a robust izakaya-style menu from Chef Ulises Alfaro-Piñeda, with craveable small plates that go beyond bar snack expectations. Tokyo Noir’s ambiance evokes a sense of neighborhood comfort while remaining exclusive. The atmosphere, curated with dim lighting and moody decor, transports guests into a world of noir films and vintage Tokyo charm. With old-school hip hop playing, guests are invited to sip bespoke cocktails. We have a parking lot across the street. The entrance is the second door in the alleyway on the side of the restaurant. Under the red paper lantern. Please watch out for cars and once you press the button to get in, wait behind the light pole away from traffic for hostess to come get you.

Ambiance was great. Service was great. Drinks were good. Only gripe is that the kitchen was closed when we got there at 10. If we had known we would of not came.

Everything was delicious. Highballs and yuzu strawberry were great! For food - corn dog, all the hand rolls, wasabi fries, deviled eggs are a must! Watching them make drinks was a treat - a great time.

This was so fun! Jacob made up a nonalcoholic yuzu ginger drink that was super yummy which I appreciated so much. Also: great 90s hip-hop playlist

Fun, little place to go to. I took my friends for Christmas and we had a great time. Drinks were delicious, the establishment had a lounge feel which was nice, and the food was good.

This was my second visit, to try different cocktails and food items. As with the first visit, Tokyo Noir did not disappoint. The bartenders are entertaining and so helpful with drink selection. The impressive Japanese whiskey selection satisfies those who want just a neat dram. I'm glad to see they're busy (I waited 15+minutes for my reservation). Means they'll be around for my third (fourth, fifth...) visit Faves so far: Okinawa gimlet, Astro boy, Monochrome

Made reservations in Nov for a 11:30pm reservation in Dec. Got seated at midnight. We specified the reservation was for the bar. Initially got seated at a table, then moved us to the bar. Once we got settled in, we were ready to order food. Little did the waitress tell us the kitchen closes at midnight. I understand they just opened but to make reservations and get seated 30 minutes later there should be a time limit of a reservation to two hours. I was so excited getting there to only be disappointed in the level of disorganization and unable to order food. It was bad enough we waited close to a month to get the first available time slot before midnight. The only thing that made it a little better were the drinks.
