Solo lunch on a gorgeous Good Friday in Verona, where there were a million or more tourists. Sat outside and had a steak on a bed of salad, artichokes, and a great amarone, followed by a light velvety panna cotta. I could have sat there all day but the tourists traps beckoned and I was only there for the day. Pleasant staff (maybe the owner?); didn’t mind my attempts at Italian. Another guy was eating soup and was complaining in Italian that the waiter gave him bread. I think he said how does he think I can eat this bread when I don’t have any teeth? (And he didn’t.)
