   Overrated restaurant. Service was slow. Food was average at best. Bread service was horrible. Bread was dry, one called choke on it. Dishes were OK not so creative. Not sure what’s the big hype on this restaurant.

   We have tried this place out twice with two separate reservations. We unfortunately won’t be returning: The positives: - the valet is working extremely hard as the entire lot is valet only and you’re never waiting long - Sav and John behind the bar are knowledgeable and personable, the best part of the experience. - they make near all of their pastas in house and the branzino was excellent. We won’t be returning because: - the hostesses have been rude to us both times that we have visited. Even with reservations in place, they have been argumentative, pushy, cold and treat you like a number (no eye contact/ bad body language) - the scallops were $22 to add on. They came out with three on the plate, undersized, and all 3 were burned black and rubbery- you couldn’t cut through them with a fork. - we have been sat poorly twice (whether we made the reservation weeks ahead or shortly.) Inside was the seat leading to the kitchen and outside was the seat leading to the back gate/ dumpster area. We now feel the best seat in the house is the bar top, though it is next to the busy and cramped entryway. We love supporting local, but unfortunately the hit-or-miss dishes and rude hostesses don’t make this place worth the price in a city with so much competition for Italian.

   Our server, Maurice, was excellent. I appreciated the cadence with which he checked in on our table but, more importantly, his recommendations were outstanding. I do not think we would have ever considered the octopus but he was right by describing it as the best in the city. Otherwise, our table had a steak special, two different pizzas and the Vingole pasta. Besides the four cheese pizza not listing the hot honey on the menu, we all loved our meals, including the sweet panna cotta for my birthday.

   We had dietary restrictions but with that too, enough choices to pick from. That worked out well. Food probably was a little bland but I can understand Italian dishes could be like that. So need to develop the taste. Mocktails were great. Would not prefer mango gillato icecream for dessert. Overall a decent experience but price tag was hefty.
