Extremely poor customer service and unhappy, inattentive staff. Waited for over an hour for the bread and then main course arrived after another 40mins before we had eaten the starters. Ordered desert, but it never came although we were billed. The wine was warm and when asked staff for a cold glass was then sarcastically asked three times if the wine was cold enough - very rude. Quality of food was shocking for the price. One member of staff apologised profusely for the poor service and food and said this was often a recurring problem when one particular chef was working. Many guests unhappy 🙁

We were put in a hallway where people kept bumping into us as they were going past between parts of the hotel. There was also a large area for people to relax so children were playing games/adults celebrating a birthday. It was a very cold area as the two big doors on each end were open. It was absolutely dreadful. Never have I felt so badly treated in a restaurant. A high street fast food restaurant would have been better. The soup took 40 min to arrive and the main another 30. The chips were reheated and dreadful. The vegan burger was cremated. The manager agreed that she would not have eaten it. The place is dirty. I would not recommend it to anyone. We booked in advanced, confirmed immediately when requested. Never again. Staff were wearing normal clothes, no protective clothing, running around shouting table numbers as they could not locate them.

We had a wonderful stay with a delicious meal on both Saturday and Friday night. I would definitely recommend. Staff were amazing, service was attentive, but left us to enjoy our meal. Thank you x

We booked via OpenTable for the lounge overlooking the garden, but we got sat in the spa instead. The insane amounts of chlorine did not make a good ambiance for a date over afternoon tea. Not too happy.

The service was very slow and the food was very underwhelming. We and other tables waited a long time for our deserts.

The menu was restricting. We visited late October and the a la Carte menu was still offering summer salads. It was not the sort of menu we were expecting for an a la carte. There were no steaks or any cheese and biscuits. The set menu rotated between pork belly and chicken on alternate days. There were pizza and curry choices and chicken with noodles. The food we chose was very nice but not what we would expect for a hotel if this calibre.

Afternoon tea was poor value. Cakes out of packets and sandwiches included one made with crust end of the loaf. Service was good. Overall place is tired and needs some updating.

Dreadful! Table was booked for 8pm for our anniversary dinner. Stood waiting to be shown to table for 10minutes then had to chase for someone to take order and finally got some food at 9.20pm. Nobody in the restaurant had any food and only think we got ours because we complained. Not enough chefs, poor waiters were left to field complaints from numerous tables. Whole hotel needs new management. Don’t bother!
