2024: awarded 2 Michelin stars!

Trivet derives from the age-old cooking utensil - an iron tripod placed over fire to support a cooking pot or kettle - reflecting the warmth and balance which forms Head Chef Jonny Lake and Master Sommelier Isa Bal’s values for the restaurant, as well as their working relationship.

From the very beginning of the creative process, Jonny, Isa and the team think about how food and drink work together. The menu features their explorations of ingredients, dishes and drinks from around the world, inspired by the culinary history and diversity around us. The wine list is set out chronologically, following the historic beginnings of wine to present day, with over 350 wines from classic producers to the New World, as well as acknowledging the root of viti-vinoculture with wines from Georgia, Armenia and Turkey.

As well as the welcoming main dining room, Trivet has a terrace, wine bar and private dining space. Monday nights transform into the LaBombe Wine Bar.

The food was outstanding but sadly the whole experience was let down by the service. Aside from the sommelier, the servers were not attentive and seemed distracted.

An outstanding culinary experience from start to finish with first class food and wink and a wonderful ambience. The staff were perfectly attentive and engaging and we loved that Johnny delivered coffees to his kitchen team

Superb now 2 Michelin star restaurant, but still relaxed for pre Christmas celebrations. Have a wonderful birthday meal. The drunken noodles are very special.

Food service was painfully service during a very busy lunchtime sitting. Took four hours to complete a four course meal. Main course for one person at least arrived tepid. Didin't send back as had already waited an age for it. Hard surfaces amplify the noise coming from neighbouring tables. Very interesting wine list with value from "off-piste" regions.

I am a foodie, with a lot of experience with Michelin starred restaurants. Might have been an off night, but this one was not up to snuff. The service: First off, the hostess was charming, friendly, warm and perfect. The waitstaff was kind and doing their best, but definitely not professional. We were seated a full 15 minutes before someone took our drinks order. The restaurant was not full, but there were a few tables of six that apparently they couldn’t cope with. (I had to flag someone down! In a M* restaurant! And they told me they couldn’t help, and more waiting for the sommelier, who when she came did not impress. I was ordering by the glass - first a Canadian Chardonnay that was fine and then a Turkish red that was good.) The setting: It’s a lovely space with an open kitchen. We had one of the tables next to the window, but the lighting there was not good. The other tables were better lit. Plus, we were cold. It was really draughty every time someone came or went. The food: The starters were disappointing! Can you believe the Drunken Lobster was actually disappointing?! I was so excited for it after the FT article. The lobster was undercooked (!) and the sauce was meh. My dining companion had the artichoke starter and pronounced it “too vinegary”). The mains were delicious. I had the chicken, the vinegary sauce here was perfect. Partner had the lamb chops, also perfect. Then for desserts, I had the Hokkaido potato thing, it was fine, but not a standout. Hard to cut with a spoon or fork, and they did not provide a knife. The one thing that was truly impressive out of the whole meal was the Turkish breakfast dessert. Now, this was truly inventive, special, delicious, memorable. We only had 2 glasses of wine and the bill was 340 pounds. I really don’t care about the money, this is what you sign up for — but if I were a Michelin reviewer, they would have lost at least one star on the basis of my experience. Overall, a very good restaurant, but not 2 Michelin *s
