   True Wild has quickly turned into one of our "go-to" restaurants in Calgary. The food choices are varied, but all are well-prepared and quite tasty. Order the bone marrow toast; you can't go wrong. The cheeseburger is one of the best in the city. The bar staff are quite knowledgeable and they have crafted some exquisite whisky cocktails. To top it off, buy a bottle of their Roper's Rye. It's a bit pricey, but it is worth it, in my opinion.

   This place is a little out of the way but well worth the effort. Housed in a renovated power building with interior views of the copper distillery, it has a unique funky ambience. The food was lovely with fresh bread and several cuts of meat that were unusual (we had the pork neck and it was delicious). Service is fine. They have a espresso machine onsite. The washrooms are 2 floors up (no elevator, so plan for your trip). There is a cool conference area at the top of the building, and the patio is likely lovely in the summer months.

   Highly recommend bar seating so that you can watch the bartenders hard at work. The baked oysters were incredible, and my lamb entree was cooked perfectly. Sometimes it’s important to spoil yourself and True Wild is a perfect spot for such indulgence.

   Great food. Excellent service. Beautiful building. Cool history behind the building and the distillery project. If you ask, they’ll take you into the distillery!

   The meal was delicious-perfectly prepared. Great ambiance. The staff was friendly. The only downside is we felt very rushed. We had just sat down and the server asked if we were ready to order our drinks, which we weren’t. When we were ready, he said we could also order our food. The food came out quite quickly. The entrée came out before we finished our appetizers. The price is fair for fine dining, but it would been nice to be able to take our time. We did have a reservation.

    Excellent all around. I decided to go for lunch on a whim and it was so good. The history of the building and space has a modern feel while respecting the history. The windows to the distillery and seeing the small kitchen space work is fun and unique. I had the Slaughterhouse and Sazerac Bourbon and Rye based cocktails - best cocktails I have had in Calgary bar none. Smooth, exceptional- not just a glass of flavoured ice. For lunch I had the pickerel sandwhich and Kenebec fries. The fish was cooked perfectly, batter was thin with a crunch. It was a solid and filling piece of fish. My only critique is how messy the green sauce was. There was so much on my bun it dripped everywhere (to the point of being a bit embarrassing) and started making the bun a bit soggy. Potato buns don’t hold up well when excessively moist. Please hold back and/or change the bun Homemade, well cooked fries are always delicious Hilary was a lovely waitress. Explained the history of the space, invited me to look around, explained their own distilled vodka, gin and bourbon, was helpful with the menu. Amazing service I highly recommend checking out this place. Great for a romantic or friend date, or a solo treat for oneself (also thank you for treating a solo diner well. Surprising how many restaurants do not)
