   It was a wonderful evening, and the food was delicious! I am thinking (hoping) our server was just having a difficult day. He did not appear happy to be there and seemed a bit bothered.

   Tupelo Honey (South Asheville) is a go-to place for our family. The service is always excellent. The restaurant is clean and decorated with bright colors and uses natural light. The outdoor space is a fun spot to eat and visit. The food at Tupelo Honey is southern comfort food. The flavors are consistently strong and delicious. The portions are an excellent amount given the price of the meals. We have utilized indoor dining as well as their pick-up option. On our latest visit, our family tried a variety of cocktails (the Bluberry Margarita was superb). We had a sampling of sides, and all of them were excellent. Our favorites are the Brussel sprouts, mac and cheese and potato cracklins'. The fried chicken is wonderful whether it is eaten on its own, with a savory or sweet waffle, or next to some fries. We always order the biscuits because they remind us of the ones our grandmamas made when we were children. 10/10 for Tupelo Honey!

   Saturday morning I expected it to be really crowded but it was very quiet! The food and service were both perfect. It’s really nice to go to a restaurant and not be disappointed!

   This was one of our worst experiences here. I made reservations more than 2 weeks prior to our visit . We came in and got seated right away. The restaurant was less than half full so service should be fantastic. We had to wait almost 20 minutes just to get drinks at our table. There was only 4 of us. Waitress brought over some biscuits for the long wait but they were hard as a rock. We always order the biscuits anyway because they are a signature dish with the blueberry jam but again another let down. So now it took even longer to order our food. 2 of our parter members wanted surf and turf but the were supposedly out of steak. It was only 7pm but maybe if they didn't take so long to get our drinks they might have still had some so the 2 guests ordered the shrimp and grits which were absolutely horrible. Grits were clumpy and the shrimp was so spicy they could not eat them as our monthly visits they are not spicy. What really made us mad was other tables that got seated after us were all getting steak!! But they were supposedly out? Had to constantly ask for drink refills. Glad a location finally opened in our town as we will no longer be visiting this location. Not sure what changed but definitely went down hill. Visit was on 2/15/2025 at 7pm.
