   This was our monthly ladies night out. From our entrance to our exit, the service was superb. Mary was our server and she was absolutely AMAZING!! The food was great and the ambiance made for a perfect evening of girl talk. This was our first time there, but we’ll definitely revisit.

   Service was great. Kitchen struggled to get my steak cooked properly but everyone was very nice and they took it off of the check.

   Let me start by saying I have certain expectations of any Ritz property and am used to having them met or exceeded, so while I'm not rating this experience highly, we still enjoyed it overall. From arrival to being seated, the friendly staff set the welcoming tone I love about the Ritz brand. However, the restaurant staff were stretched pretty thin. It's a small space and didn't feel full but once seated we were only aware of one bartender, one primary server, and one server helping with drinks, bread, and table-clearing (plus one person, possibly a manager, who sometimes delivered food to tables). As a result, we spent quite a bit of time waiting throughout the meal and our interactions with the primary server sometimes felt rushed. Having exchanged messages about vegan options through the OpenTable interface with the Ritz in advance, I was surprised that our server hadn't been informed of a vegan member of our party (or at least she didn't say anything about it), but she was knowledgeable about the menu and I was well provided for. I had made our reservation based on their special Christmas Eve set menu, and while the food was good, it wasn't quite as advertised. I think our biggest disappointment (as a family that enjoys dessert) was that the Christmas Eve menu was described on the Cleveland Ritz's own website as ending with "Candy Cane Profiteroles and Warm Chocolate Sauce. Enjoy our special Christmas Night dessert action station featuring Yule Logs in various flavors." Instead, our server explained that the only dessert for the set menu was a yule log with Kahlua ganache, which was entirely unappealing to my dad, who was paying for dinner. We asked about the other options we'd expected and the server seemed unaware of them and was not particularly apologetic, though she did offer alternatives. In a nutshell, I don't think I'd even have suggested this meal to my parents, let alone booked it, had the description of the meal been accurate.

   Our traditional family Christmas Eve dinner was great once again! We had the pleasure of Julie as our server tonight. She is always spot on with her steps of service. Dishes were all very good and the decor is comfortable and festive!

   We spent Christmas Eve with the Ritz and it was a nice time, but I think in this season of our life we will not be back for Holiday Dining. Firstly, I know it is such a hard balance to have the right amount of staff. You don’t want to over staff but being understaffed is also not ideal. I think that was the case last night, for us at least. There were two servers, one bartender and one floater from what I saw and we felt every bit of the thinly stretched staff. I must note though that everyone was simply delightful. We were the first reservation at 5:15, got there at 4:45 because traffic was light, and didn’t leave until 7:25. The reason we chose The Ritz for dinner was because they had an hour and half limit for each table, which would have been great for the age of our kids…but that timeline seemed to not apply in this seating. After the first course/drinks, service started to slow even more and we lost the kids entirely, asking for their dessert and ours to be packed up for home. We will try again when the kids are older!

   This was the worst dining experience I ever had. I thought I was booking The Ritz to take my daughter and her boyfriend home for holidays to a very nice dinner experience. We NEVER got a waitress. After sitting for over 30 or 40 minutes we walked to the bar and asked the bartender to take our drink order. After her brought our drinks about 20 minutes later, the waitress was running around taking orders, bussing tables, getter dessert orders, bringing out food, but she NEVER came to our table. Since we were sitting in a high top right in the middle of the room we were hard to miss. She had tapped our table at one point and said she would be over soon, but NEVER came. So after another 30 minutes we asked the bartender if he could take our food order. The food was just mediocre. If you are expecting a crowd, staff up or don't accept reservations you can't handle.

    I've been a regular lunch customer for several years and I'm disappointed with the new menu. The tuna nicoise salad was my favorite "go-to" item and it's no longer available. Several of the more reasonably priced items are gone which is a miss for a lunch menu. The price for the portions received is exceptionally high for lunch. The salad I got was good, but basic compared to the item I preferred. Turn won't be in my regular lunch rotation anymore, unfortunately.
