We booked a reservation on Open Table for dinner NYE at Two Mules Cantina for the first time. When we arrived, they did not have our reservation and proceeded to tell us they had a special NYE buffet dinner priced at $85 person. They also told us to find our own table. This info was not posted on the website nor Open Table. Because we also had tickets to a Murder Mystery show at that location for NYE, we decided to try the buffet. In short, the buffet was worth maybe $30 a person. Certainly not what they charged. This was not a good dining experience. As such, we do not recommend Two Mules Cantina.

We made a reservation through Open Table but when we arrived there was a special event taking place and we were told we couldn’t keep our reservation. We’ve been staying at Texican Court and eating at Two Mules Cantina for years, celebrating birthdays, watching football games, celebrating other events with friends…so we were saddened to hear the host tell us the reservation wasn’t honored. In my opinion, Open Table should have been alerted by Two Mules Cantina about the special event so that if reservations were not being accepted during that time, no one would have been able to make them. Or there could’ve been a plan in place for what to do should Open Table still allow reservations. Hopefully, this can be a learning experience that can be helpful for better planning, next time there’s a special event. It’s sad to have long-time customers disappointed by something that could have been rectified and turned into a “win win” to share good news about customer service. We stay at all of the Valencia boutique hotels. They’re all great! This was just a one time experience with Two Mules Cantina. OpenTable has always been trustworthy to reflect available reservations. This time must have been due to lack of communication by Two Mules Cantina.

Enjoyable and rustic outdoor seating available. Food and service was good-especially Happy Hour prices. Live music when we dined outside under a warm star filled sky.

Our party of 4 went for dinner at 7 PM on a Tuesday evening. It's a really neat restaurant that's in the Texican Hotel. It's right across the street from the Westin hotel/Irving Convention Center. We all ordered the chicken enchiladas, everyone enjoyed them. The waitress said they were one of the more popular menu items. Top Shelf margarita was great. Service was good, food came out promptly.

The food, service, and ambience were all fantastic. The services provided by the professional management and staff are the main reasons that we keep coming back. The old world elegance is a rare thing, and we value their focus to make sure that everything about the dining experience is excellent. I highly recomend this restaurant.

This was our second time at Two Mules and unfortunately it did not live up to our first at all. Their menu had changed and the only vegetarian option available was an impossible taco. I asked if they could make anything else vegetarian and was told I could get a plain cheese quesadilla for $14. I asked if they could at least put some peppers and onions in it and was told all the peppers and onions have been pre-cooked with beef (huh??). I eventually ordered the chicken enchiladas without the chicken and got cold cheese enchiladas. Our friends ordered the loaded tots, brisket on the side, and it was not in the side. I never have this much trouble finding a vegetarian option at a restaurant these days and was surprised how unwilling they were to accommodate.

The menu is very limited and the quality of the food is not great. Unlikely that we will go back.

The food options were limited, and very much like Chili’s. However, the flavors were better than I had imagined after getting there. We had the poblano enchiladas, which my partner enjoyed, and I had the pork belly, and brisket tacos, which I found to be flavorless. The drinks weren’t the best either, it tasted of syrup and flavoring. Oh, and also, if you’re not staying at the hotel that is attached to, getting to the restaurant can be confusing.

I had made an Open table reservation for 10 people. When we arrived, they said they didn’t have the reservation, and they would not honor the reservation even after I showed them the confirmation. They said 30 minute wait despite about 20 open tables. We just sat outside instead (had to go the bar for food service). The outside vibe is actually pretty cool! The food was decent but nothing exceedingly special. Drinks were VERY weak. Would not return as they are just too many options in the area that would have been far better.

Outstanding service, even better food. This spot is a hidden gem and a must try for the Irving area.
