The award-winning Uchi, which translated from Japanese means “home,” was first opened in Austin, Texas by James Beard Award winner Chef Tyson Cole. Since then, Cole’s signature non-traditional take on Japanese cuisine has been warmly received by visitors from across the country and around the globe. Reservations are encouraged and can be booked online up to 1 month in advance. Walk-in bar seating is available and is subject to wait times. Patio seating is weather permitting and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. We look forward to serving you, Kanpai!

We went to Uchi for our Anniversary. Overall we had an outstanding experience. We enjoyed the food and service as we sat at the sushi counter. Chef Jacob helped us with our orders. The food was excellent. Fish & lobster were fresh. Apparently they received 3 seafood shipments per week. We had Lobster Miso, Walu Walu (steamed fish), uni & salmon roe nigiri, hot rock wagyu beef, and a few drinks. We also received complimentary sushi for our Anniversary.

We don’t often treat ourselves to an upscale sushi restaurant but when we do from now on Uchi will be the first choice! Every drink and every bite was delicious and memorable to our taste buds! A great way to treat yourself and celebrate special occasions!

Absolutely outstanding delicious cuisine! Definitely pricey, but the quality makes it worth it for the rare adventure of a dining experience. The ten course meal, I was told on my first time here some years ago, is the way to do this and it did not disappoint on the second occasion. The lobster bisque was rich and decadent, the sushi was crisp and flavorful, the meal was well paced for a pleasant time of enjoying company, atmosphere and food served with care for ingredients.

The service at this restaurant was among the slowest I have ever encountered. Unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations, and the service from our waitress was extremely disappointing. Based on this experience, I would not consider returning and have already advised my coworkers against visiting. This restaurant had been on my list of places to try, but after this visit, I would not recommend it. For exceptional food and service, I suggest visiting Matsuhisa in Cherry Creek instead.
