   We frequent Va Bene because we live just up the street. This visit was definitely one of the better experiences I've had. They've updated their menu to include some seasonal men items. There were six of us and we shared the focaccia & ricotta appetizer, which was amazing. We also tried the lobster bisque, which was very rich and creamy and flavorful, but there was no lobster meat in the soup. I split the Agnolotti with a friend and it was delicious - a perfect fall comfort dish. I will definitely be ordering it again. My only complaint is that we made reservations at 5:15, specifically to enjoy their happy hour, only to find out that they only offer happy hour specials in the bar area and on the outdoor patio. Since the bar area only seats about 10 people and it was about 32 degrees outside, we were not given happy hour specials. It would be great if the restaurant would offer the happy hour specials throughout the restaurant.

   The server was welcoming and knowledgeable. She seemed to sincerely want to provide an enjoyable dining experience. She opened three bottles of wine for us to sample and agree upon. And the complimentary tiramisu birthday dessert was delicious.

   Food was delicious! I had the rigotoni and my spouse had the braised beef short ribs. We loved both dishes. It is not on the menu but I asked for a side salad and the server said you could get any of the salads in a small portion. I had The Bene salad to start and also loved it!

   Love the patio seating. The bruschetta was meh/ mozzarella was rubbery, Caesar salad was too salty with the pancetta, the eggplant Parmesan said with polenta - no polenta. The crab stuffed ravioli only had crab sprinkled on top, another dish was suppose to have pancetta and it was only noodle. I have never been to an Italian restaurant that did not offer a baguette or garlic bread. The molten lava dessert was just a dry brownie not molten chocolate. Such a disappointment on a birthday celebration.

   Have eaten here before so introduced to Adrien’s tonight for her birthday ! Bruschetta had little flavor and we overlooked made with cherry tomatoes Meatballs balls and ravioli was fine but nothing to rave about . Wedge fries were the best thing on menu . Server was indifferent and very slow to even check in on the table throughout the meal Worst of all NOISE level ridiculous Bartender kept throwing empty wine bottles I. Trash and it kept echoing throughout the restaurant Two other diners looked up and we were all like what is going on ?happened 2 or 3 times Overall very disappointing no intention of ever returning !
