   This was my third dinner at Vela . It is a great restaurant- food excellent and everything that comes out of the kitchen looks amazing . Great cocktails . Wait staff are very busy and could do with some more wait staff in the floor . Staff very friendly and helpful . Priced in keeping with high end experience .

   Excellent vibe and great service and friendly staff, good presentation, but the Cashew nut chicken we had was very tough and chewy! The food and veggies were very fresh though, but somehow I feel the food was a bit blunt flavour wise, don't get me wrong, it was still great but I think they were playing safe with the soices, as such the Thai taste or the kick from the spices that you normally get in street food stall was missing, but otherwise a great venue to have a get together and for occasional events

   Food is always good but the most recent time, the prawn wasn’t cleaned and had intestines and the lamb was super burnt and overcooked. Told the manager and she did nothing at time of payment.

   This was my first time at Vela and it was for a work dinner of 10 people. The service was quick and excellent, the food was scrumptious and the interior design was not only stylish, but ensured that sound doesn't bounce around, even when it's a busy evening (as it was when we were there). The only thing I would say is that the curries / stir fries / main meals aren't overly large and they were a little more expensive than most Thai restaurants. That said, the food couldn't be faulted and was more unique than most Thai restaurants; the location at West Village would also add to the costs of the restaurateurs. I will most certainly be back!

   We have visited before, and the experience has been consistently excellent! The food, ambience and staff is amazing! We had a guest visiting from the UK and took them out to Vela and they were thoroughly impressed with the food and experience too. The only thing I would recommend is to space the meals out as they come out so quickly after starters and your meal ends up finishing with the hour when you have 1.5 hours. This time we requested for the mains to wait for at least 15-20 minutes after starters which Vela kindly accommodated, and we had a wonderful evening, and it didn’t feel rushed! We will be back and continue to recommend Vela to our friends and family. Thank you.

   I took my elderly parents to Vela for a family celebration on a Monday night. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant was clean and beautifully fitted out. We ordered several dishes to share and were very pleased with all of them. Our waiter was helpful, answering our questions and repeating our order back to us to make sure it was correct.

    The food was very good as was the friendly and efficient service especially given we had to be in & out as we were heading to a show. The unfortunate issue was that at a 5.30pm booking with a maximum 20 people in the restaurant, the “doof doof” chill/house music was way too loud. SO loud in fact that it was difficult to have a conversation amongst the 4 of us and Even more difficult to hear/ understand the service staff who for our table, were all quietly spoken thai people with fairly strong thai accents. Twice I requested that the music be turned down a touch so we could hear ourselves think ( not to mention have a reasonable conversation ) Twice my request was ignored. A disappointing experience to what could have been a really lovely 5 star dinner. Would we go back? Well despite the lovely food and service - No. Not until VELA gets its background dining music sorted - especially for early bird diners. VELA needs to understand its mix of customers better - especially those living at West Village and save the loud “doof doof” music for the after 10pm cocktail fraternity. We were looking forward to a relaxing and positive dining experience at VELA. If we want head banging music, we’ll pay to go to a Pearl Jam concert! Please note we have passed our experience onto a number of other like-minded people who will now consider alternative eating venues at West Village.
