This was our second visit to Venus and our first five-star meal wasn’t luck of the draw. Our second meals were equally delicious. We didn’t realize it was chicken Parmesan Thursday and how fortuitous! A salad, the chicken and a glass of wine for $28. This is enough food for two. Our server was attentive and friendly. Our son and his wife are joining us there tonight for round three! Highly recommend 😊

Brussels sprouts were amazing! We had the Venus martinis shaken and stored to compare them. Kristin was a fabulous wait person!

Based on past performance, I'd say this place should get an easy five star rating, but things were a little off this time. Problem was that we ordered our steaks medium-rare, and got medium well. Never had that happen here before. Everything else, the rest of the food, drinks, and service was great, so hopefully this was just an off night.

We dined with friends last night at Venus Spirits and Cocktails. They were participating in Restaurant Week Santa Cruz and the Prix Fixe menu offered delicious options for starter, entree and dessert courses. Our server was friendly and accommodating. Some of the plates however were mixed up so there was a bit of the wait while they sorted it out but that was a minor inconvenience. Overall we had a lovely meal and enjoyed ourselves greatly. We've talked about trying the restaurant a second time in the near future to sample some of the dishes on the regular menu as well.

Service was so slow! The food was good. Shrimp and grits was a highlight, but a some of the other dishes, like the kale salad, I could have made at home. And other elements, like the potatoes roasted in duck fat, weren’t fully realized, perhaps because the kitchen was so far in the weeds.

Everything was great. The food however took a very long to arrive to the table. Kitchen was backed up. Aside from waiting everything was great. Server was attentive, food was great when it finally arrived, and drinks were tasty.

Went for restaurant week so it was busy, but the host was accommodating we didn’t wait too long to be seated. Once seated we waited over 30 minutes to order. When the food came out it was warm like it had been sitting for a while.
