   It was amazing. This was our first time fining here. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Our server was friendly and made a suggestion or two. They have a happy hour/early bird menu. The atmosphere was great. Their carrot cake was awesome!!! One of the partners stopped by our table and thanked us for coming in. I would highly recommend Veranda!!

   We decided to enjoy Happy Hour - per usual I ordered the calamari and my husband the generously sized bacon cheese burger with fries from dinner menu- it appears 70% or more sitting around the bar also had the perfectly light calamari - spicy chili sauce ideal for dipping. Bar has wide selection to chose from - beers/wines/coktails

   Through Open Table, we had requested a "quiet area" because of a hearing disability. They disregarded that and seated us in the dining area of the bar during happy hour, so it was very noisy and full. We asked if the other dining room was open, and they acknowledged that it was and re-seated us there. After waiting a long time for someone to approach our table, I had to get up and go to the hostess station to get someone to take our orders. When I ordered my filet mignon, the server asked if I wanted mushrooms, or onions, or anything else with it. I then decided that the mushrooms would be good. When I was very near the end of my meal, I realized that she never brought the mushrooms, hailed her down, and told her. She asked if I still wanted them, and I said yes. Awhile later, she brought them to our table and I ended up taking them home with me because we were almost done dining at that point. When we received our bill, I was surprised that they still charged us separately for them. And I would think that the expediter or the server should have noticed the lack of the mushroom, when they brought our order to the table originally.

   The short rib was not as tender as you would expect and my wife needed a steak knife to cut through the cod. Seasoning on the cod was also lacking. Had to ask for salt and pepper. We love the feel of the place and the people are nice, but the quality of the food no longer makes the price worth it.
