I lived here in this city for 17 years and came across Verdugos. The whole experience was amazing from the time we came in to meeting Mr.. Verdugos himself came to our table and spoke with us making sure we were ok. The Steak is to die for tender juicy. The chicken salad was amazing. The bread and sauce they serve you was so tasty. The cheesecake OMG. I could go on how good everything was. I will be back. Highly recommended for any event you won't be disappointed. Everything is alcart... Its worth every penny.

Steaks are melt-in-your mouth! I prefer a little more seasoning, but understandable. Service was good, a little bit pricey, but the ambience is very austere/bare. But we enjoyed the meal.

Very disappointed on Valentine’s Day had 6pm reservations showed up at 5:45pm they sat us right away and forgot we where there restaurant was only about 1/2 full at this time. Took 20min to get our drink order. They made a mistake and brought us 2 appetizers and charged us for both. Food took 1 hour and 45min to come. Only refilled our drinks twice. Really wanted to like this place because it’s local but it was terrible.

We went for my son's birthday and the waiter who served us was wonderful and kind and sang with us happy birthday. My son felt great. The place was empty because of the superbowl, but regardless, it could use some overall warmth in it's decor. The food had highs and mediums. I wouldn't say ever lows. The ribeye was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. I enjoyed it after I had to send back the lamb chops I originally ordered. They were not bad but tasted different. The waiter informed me that their preparation of lamb chops eliminates the gamey taste, which in essence is what I love about lamb. They were super gracious and switched it to a delicious ribeye. My son had the ribeye. My husband had chicken. It was a medium point. The mash potatoes were great but the chicken ok. My mom had salmon and veggies. Once again, medium. I have to say that for fine dining I was disappointed that the fries were run of the mill frozen French fries you get anywhere. The lobster bisque was good but overpriced, in my opinion. Overall I say, if you go, get a steak. They know steak, everything else they are still working on.
