Vernick Fish presents Philadelphia’s own, Chef Greg Vernick’s exploration beyond the boundaries of a seafood restaurant. His ingredient-driven cooking style, paired with a love for global flavors, results in an inventive menu of fish and shellfish dishes, and a range of vegetable preparations. Taking a detailed, seasonal, and sustainable approach with small and large plate offerings, the kitchen brings new life to the favorite hallmarks of American oyster bar fare and raw bar. Complementing the experience are well-crafted cocktails, and a focused wine list of seafood-friendly white and sparkling offerings, as well as light, fresh reds.

Why they're an Icon

Executive chef: Greg Vernick and CDC David Paterniti

From the OpenTable editors: Sleek interiors meet thoughtful service at this celebratory Logan Square seafood spot. James Beard Award-winning chef Greg Vernick walks the line between innovative and nostalgic with dishes like sardines on sourdough toast and grilled scallops that are masterclasses in careful sourcing and precise preparation, but also wipe-your-plate-clean delicious. If you’re toasting to something special, get one of the hard-to-find spirits or wines from the top-notch drinks program.

The food at Vernick Fish is always spectacular, but this is the second time we’ve been and had to wait nearly 20 minutes past our reservation time for a table; I suspect they try to push in guests of the hotel at the expense of local diners with reservations, which is very frustrating.

The food and service are top grade. The prices do reflect this. The atmosphere is lively. The space's style is clean and modern. However, compared to the food it does not stand out like "this is Vernick Fish". At times due to the nature of the space and seating it was hard to hold a conversation without leaning in or speaking more loudly. That said, the food was excellent, the seafood was wonderful tasting and well prepared. The staff was professional and attentive.
