Vernick Fish presents Philadelphia’s own, Chef Greg Vernick’s exploration beyond the boundaries of a seafood restaurant. His ingredient-driven cooking style, paired with a love for global flavors, results in an inventive menu of fish and shellfish dishes, and a range of vegetable preparations. Taking a detailed, seasonal, and sustainable approach with small and large plate offerings, the kitchen brings new life to the favorite hallmarks of American oyster bar fare and raw bar. Complementing the experience are well-crafted cocktails, and a focused wine list of seafood-friendly white and sparkling offerings, as well as light, fresh reds.

Why they're an Icon

Executive chef: Greg Vernick and CDC David Paterniti

From the OpenTable editors: Sleek interiors meet thoughtful service at this celebratory Logan Square seafood spot. James Beard Award-winning chef Greg Vernick walks the line between innovative and nostalgic with dishes like sardines on sourdough toast and grilled scallops that are masterclasses in careful sourcing and precise preparation, but also wipe-your-plate-clean delicious. If you’re toasting to something special, get one of the hard-to-find spirits or wines from the top-notch drinks program.

A perfect pick for our smallish family Thanksgiving dinner. We were stunned by the depth of the menu and the raw bar is probably one of the best I’ve had in a long while. They’ve nailed an elevated menu with comfortable and engaging service in an elegant setting that complements the Philly dynamic - it’s not New York because it doesn’t want to be. Our table lead, Erica, was absolutely amazing, responding to every ask with a yes and here’s something else amazing to go with it. Joe and George were bright spots, making a simple table service and plate clearing an event of their own. Totally and utterly satisfied. We found our new Philly Thanksgiving go-to.

Our experience upon entry was terrible. The young lady who serves as your hostess was so incredibly rude and not friendly. I was at a dinner with my two home from college daughters and my husband and we were all taken back. Not a good first impression. The server to us, didn’t belong in your restaurant. Not well versed and not polished. Food came out like it had been sitting there. Look- we have dined all over the world. This was OK. Whole fish was nice. Scallops were fine. Crudos are ok. We had to ask for caviar. Odd. The butter on the table was the most distasteful thing I think I have ever had. The bread was terrible. Server didn’t ask if I wanted wine with dinner etc… we dined there for convenience of staying at the 4 seasons. Next time we will go elsewhere. Bottom line - Not worth the hype.

Modern, trendy decor with an open kitchen. Prices on the high side but the food, presentation, service outstanding.! Expensive, unusual wine list.

Food was inconsistent Branzino for $72 was only okay They served a rancid butter but apologized and replaced it with a good one Service was slow and inattentive and at one point bordered on rude in tone Had been there previously for a birthday 2 years ago and wonder if the chef and mgmt have changed since then as felt really different But the crudos and the halibut were delicious

Manager kept flicking lights on and off throughout our service. The waiter was average. The food was good but I think the overall experience is what to expect from a hotel restaurant.
