Amazing food and service. Great bar. The gumbo is full of flavor, as well as the Mac and cheese. The start of the show for us was the short rib.

Food quality and choices are exceptional. Everything was unique with tons of flavor. The Gumbo, short rib, pork steak and mac and cheese are all divine. The service was mostly reasonable. The staff are all exceptionally nice but our drinks came after our food, we had to ask multiple times for refills. We ordered family style, which was great, but the food arrived and we had no individual plates to serve the food and had to flag someone down to get them. Overall I highly recommend it but for the price I would expect better attention to detail from the staff. I will go back because the food is that good!

A real gem. Southern comfort food executed at a high level. The short rib and the fish and grits were highlights, along with the attentive and personable service provided by Anthony. Virtue has a great vibe, and a younger, diverse crowd than is typical of most Chicago restaurants. This was our second visit and we shall definitely return. It is a great place to stop when visiting the Museum of Science and Industry, Robie House and other attractions in the Hyde Park area.

Top flight quality for each and every item we ordered: green tomatoes, gumbo, pork roast, beef short ribs, mac & cheese, corn bread, and peach cobbler. Portion sizes are bigger than you normally get at a fancy restaurant. Service was great as well.
