Tucked away down a private access road in Edgbaston, this little gem is well worth finding! Food is excellent, I struggled to choose what I wanted as I wanted it all. Wonderful service and very classy peaceful ambience. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who appreciates good food! Great value for money too. Only negative is no option to add a tip when paying by card as if you don't carry cash then you can't leave a tip and you will definitely want to!

This was a real disappointment. The visual appeal of the restaurant is limited and you feel a bit like you are eating in a renovated Launderette because of the location. No real front of house and only 2 waiters meant we waited 10 minutes before the offer of a drink or sight of a menu. The wine list was really poor and the food arrived dry, having been left to keep warm for too long. It is not competitive with a decent gastro pub which is a surprise considering the chefs reputation. I have eaten at Edmunds (which was one of the reasons for coming here) and they were superb. This is not. If you are going to go it alone in this location then it has to be "about the food", which disappointingly wasn't enough. Hopefully it was the chefs night off and this is not the norm.......

Food is superb staff excellent . We came as a group of 5. The one downside that gradually took over the meal was the fact that as a group of 5 sat at a rectangular table the noise from other tables, particularly a large party nearby, made it impossible for a conversation to include the people at the far end of the table . The fashion for hard surfaces reflects and bounces sound. I would come again in a two but not for a larger number.

I booked this as a treat for my husband to mark 10 years since we met, so I wanted something special. I decided on Waters after a recommendation from a friend and was not disappointed. The restaurant itself is small and intimate which was perfect. The staff were helpful, friendly and professional. The menu is limited which to me is the sign of an excellent restaurant because it means everything is cooked fresh and not pre-prepared and stuck in the microwave. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The wine list was also very good. We had a lovely relaxing evening and will certainly be back, soon!

Worth a visit. Leans more towards fine dining than bistro, with portion sizes on the small side. Good flavours, though.

We have eaten here on many occasions and can always rely on excellent food in a friendly atmosphere. Vegetarian options are great and very tasty, as well as the meat and fish options. We are foodies and this restaurant never disappoints.

Excellent food and service, only slightly marred by a noisy wedding group. But they left early anyway.

We were a group of 6 people. We decided to go for the surprise, 5 course menu. We just stipulated what we didn't eat. All 5 courses were simply amazing. The drinks were reasonably priced too. Going back there very soon. Excellent service too.

Everything about this restaurant works well. The furnishings and decoration are well chosen and relaxing. The staff are well trained and easily adapt from formal to friendly. Most importantly the quality of food is excellent. A great addition to the Harborne restaurant scene and well worth a visit from further afield.

We decided to give Waters on The Square a go as we want to go somewhere special for my sisters 30th Birthday. I did a bit of research and the reviews of both this restaurant and Andy Waters' other restaurants were top notch so i booked a table for a Sunday evening. We arrived at the restaurant, a small, very unassuming "shop front" located on a dated shopping square, where you'd expect to find your general local amenities, hair dressers, takeaways, news agents etc and indeed you did. However, do not let this put you off, stepping inside the restaurant you are greeted by welcoming staff. It is only a small premises but has an intimate feel. We need not have booked as there was only one other party of 5 dining at the time. We were served promptly, and the menu's were explained. On a Wednesday and Sunday they offer a "5 course Surprise Menu" priced at £29.50 pp, their A La Carte menu was similarly priced at £24.50 for 2 courses or £29.50 for three. It was a no brainer for us, with it being our first visit we wanted to be "surprised"! This wasn't a decision that we would regret...The food is absolutely delicious, beautifully presented and the portion sizes were ideal considering there were 5 courses. By the time desserts arrived we were almost full to the brim, perfectly timed we were presented with not one but 4 miniature desserts! I thought this was brilliant value for money and there was something for everyone on this occasion. We all had a lovely evening in Waters on The Square, i'd definitely return especially as in my mind, their pricing is brilliant value for the standard of food you are served. I'm so glad I found this little gem, and it has definitely been added to my list of top places to eat in Birmingham.
