Nestled at the beginning of the Pyrenees Wine region , Wayward offers an incredible view of the Pyreness Ranges and our established Vineyard.

Australian inspired cuisine using local seasonal produce with an emphasis on cooking with fire.

Open 11am - 4pm Friday to Sunday
EMBR Nights 6:30pm - 10pm Friday & Saturday Nights

*please note tables of 8+ will be required to take our Chef Selection options and all tables of 10+ are required to pay a $30pp deposit*

Our chefs have curated an exclusive à la carte menu, sourcing local produce mixed with ingredients from our very own garden all while maintaining an emphasis of cooking with fire. *JUNE WINE TASTING SPECIAL* Simply choose the Chef's Selection to receive a free wine tasting with your meal **PLEASE NOTE** For bookings of six or more the $85 Chef’s Selection (entree, 2 x small plates, mains and dessert) must be selected. Adults only. Please make note of any allergies/dietary requirements in booking notes. Requirements will not be catered to on the night if no notice given.

    Had our wedding with Wayward last year. We came back for lunch for our first wedding anniversary. Teddy looked after us amazingly. And food was outstanding as always. Highly recommend!!

    We celebrated a family birthday (actually a celebration for all our birthdays) here and had an amazing experience. The view and ambience is beautiful, the food incredible and the service wonderful. It’s great to hear the story of the vineyard, the winery and the food and share the passion of the owner and chef. The presentation of the food is artistry, and it was lovely seeing the chef pop out to the garden to cut some fresh produce and herbs then a few minutes later it was served up to us. We have all agreed we’ll be back again!

    Highly recommend a visit to Wayward winery! The view overlooking the vineyards is perfect, food was excellent and wine pairing well done. The staff are attentive - managing great service in a professional yet casual style. Will visit again!

    We were blown away by Wayward Winery! We had booked a table for a weekend away in Ballarat, not knowing what to expect but so grateful we did. The food and wine were delicious, the interior design and view were stunning and the host Teddy was so lovely and welcoming. An absolute hidden gem that we’re glad to have uncovered. We’ll definitely be back!

    After showing our visitors around the beautiful Pyrenees wineries in Moonambel and surrounds, we stopped for lunch at Wayward Winery on the trip back to Ballarat. We were very impressed with the menu and our selection - the arancini and empanadas are up there with the best i’ve ever had. The W.O.W Grenache was also excellent. I highly recommend and look forward to a return visit.

    We arrived & were greeted immediately & shown to our beautiful table. The garden views were stunning & equally the menu. We were both very impressed with the service, food & the views.

    Wonderful experience, we will definitely be back there soon. Food was excellent and each dish was thoughtful prepared and presented. Great host (Teddy) and Chef made for a great night. Our first time to this venue - If you are after great food and personable service with fresh produce , you need reward yourself and book lunch or dinner. Great work Ted.

    The food was exceptional. Lovely platter to share begore our main was really well balanced. . Good vegetarian options also available but the duck and the short rib dishes we selected were so so good. Presentation is beautiful,. The sude dishes were grat, perfect accompaniments to the main. Could not fault any of the food.
