Westerns Laundry is a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant focusing on seafood & natural wines. The restaurant is located in the Islington/Highbury neighbourhood of North London. It opened in 2018 and is housed in a 1950's industrial building which used to be home to the largest commercial laundry in North London. It now boasts a beautiful 60 cover dining room, which opens onto an open 20 cover cobbled courtyard with olive trees as well as an intimate private dining room. Westerns Laundry has won numerous awards for excellence and originality and is a firm favourite on the London dining scene.

We had an excellent experience today for lunch. Friendly prompt service and delightful interesting dishes to choose from the blackboard menu. Wine was offered by the glass - it was reasonably priced and a good selection. We enjoyed sharing all of the dishes and in particular loved the crab. Many thanks.

Delicious food as ever! Always love coming to Westerns over the years. Wish the waiter listened when we said we have been before and know the menu But he persisted in explaining to us….

Yeah it’s good, it is Michelin rated and probably correctly so for the curiosity of the dishes. I thought the menu was small but interesting.

Unfortunately we were let down by the service and the menu on the night we went for a specific focus on wines from the Jura. I felt massively underwhelmed and overlooked by the servers. Disappointing as I recall previously having a lovely meal there years ago.

The food was delicious (especially the cheese beignets with pickled walnuts, the sauce was to die for! And the rhubarb pavlova was divine). We celebrated a birthday and they did their best to accomodate special requests - offered to write a birthday message on the table, which was a very nice gesture! The restaurant was packed and the noise level extremely high, and the lighting in the toilets too dim, but those are minor points of criticism. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious shared plates dining experience.

Gorgeous and romantic interior bustling with large, shared tables. They cleverly sat us at the corner of a big square table for 8 (four couples). It was amazingly intimate despite the common table - we didn’t feel overhead, and it felt friendly to engage just a bit with our neighbours. The food and the wine was gorgeous. Really interesting veggie options (chestnut ravioli was a particular gem). The service was attentive, but when we asked for one of each of the desserts we thought we were getting two and three came, which felt like it was obviously deserving of a clarification from our waitress, as we were only two people. Overall £100 per head - which we considered a bit of a splurge but we knew what we were getting into. And we felt like the experience lived up to our expectations based on the excellent ratings it gets. Highly recommend!
