At The White Horse Tavern we strive to create a fresh, contemporary culinary experience in America’s Oldest Restaurant. Like generations before us, we serve the freshest fish, clams and lobsters from Narragansett Bay along with just-picked produce from local RI’s farms. We embrace RI’s vibrant food scene to bring you the very best artisan cheeses, honeys, prime cuts of beef and the highest quality chops and poultry from local farms. We are proud to embrace RI's vibrant food scene, which has made the White Horse Tavern a New England destination.

Proper Dress Required; Business Casual is appropriate. Jackets are not required. Please no athletic wear.

Please note any allergies or special requests when making your reservation or any restrictions with stairs. Reservations are recommended to be made 2 to 4 weeks prior to your preferred dining date and time. Specific tables may be requested however we are unable to guarantee certain requests.

One of the best meals I've had in a long time. They've done a great job keeping it looking and feeling like a colonial era tavern with a dimly lit interior. The service here was also incredible as our server provided excellent recommendations. As far as the food, it was tough to choose between clam chowder and the French onion soup. I went with the chowder and was not disappointed. For the entré, I ordered the filet with a lobster tail. Incredible! For dessert, I had the pineapple carrot bread pudding and an cappuccino. Would not change a thing and will be back.

Between the service and the food in the aesthetic of the building, it was just amazing. Highly recommend the beef Wellington, it was out of this world.

Terrific dinner with excellent service from our waiter Tim. Highly recommend the scallops with risotto and the catch of the day, swordfish with grilled pineapple salsa.

The food was very nice and service excellent and friendly. The ambience of the old old inn is amazing. We have been there before and I thought this old inn perfect for birthday dinner for my wife. It was.
