I was embarrassed to bring my guest to this. Because of only one sitting time, guests are shuttled in after waiting in line. That alone ruined the experience. The food is all tasteless - not one sweet had a distinct taste other than sugary sweet. The whole experience is catered to tourists who (the Willard seems to think) are unsophisticated. Truly, truly disappointing.

Thank you for helping me kick off my 40th birthday celebration! The hotel is beautiful. The staff for tea time was excellent. Our server was attentive and had a great sense of humor. The hostess was very gracious and called to check on us when we had a delayed arrival due to the cherry blossom bloom. However, our experience upon arrival and departure, at the valet, failed to meet our expectations of a luxury hotel. While there were two hotel colleagues at valet, neither approached our vehicle to open the car doors for the driver or any of the passengers. After waiting 3 minutes and watching the colleagues casually talk to each other, my party exited the vehicle to proceed to our reservation. Upon our departure, the same two colleagues were at the valet stand. I handed them our ticket with a tip. Then they handed me the keys and pointed to our vehicle near the entrance. Again, they did not assist us we getting into our vehicle. Once we walked to our car and turned around, we noticed the valet colleagues following another party from tea time to their vehicle and watched them assist the party with getting into their vehicle. My guest who worked at a Forbes 5 star hotel for several years was taken aback and felt the experience was not in alignment with a 5 star luxury experience. The valet is the first and last impression for a guest. I implore The Willard Hotel management to re-educate the valets on the service standards that guests expect when visiting a self proclaimed luxury hotel. Other than valet, my guests and I enjoyed our time at the Peacock Alley Afternoon Tea.

$90 for some mid pastries is a complete scam. $55-75 for the food, sure but $90?? Increase how much you charge for the champagne and decrease food costs.
