   This restaurant has steadily declined in the last few years. Food has gone from good to poor with a very narrow menu. The barr is probably fine for pizza and drinks. We reserved on Valentines day weeks in advance and were told we had to sit on a patio with a steel roof and tile floor and for ambiance, tables for 12 and two tables set for two. The echo and noise made it like being in a sports bar. We left as soon as possible. Forget dessert. Forget Wit and Wisdom. Try EDK, Salt and Stone, Golden bear, any where else.

   Everything we had was amazing. Great restaurant. The crab as an appetizer was a group favorite as well as the califlower.

   Wit and Wisdom is a Michael Mina restaurant located adjacent to the Lodge at Sonoma Resort. Upon entering, we were taken aback by the loudness of the room and blamed poor acoustics. The restaurant was also too cold. Be prepared to spend a lot of money- especially since everything is ala carte. The appetizer take on a Caesar salad (placing the ingredients in a fold of endive) was excellent. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly well and was a high quality cut of meat. I would have liked fries with that, but I couldn't bring myself to order them since they were cooked in duck fat. Maybe it's my 2025 plan to eat healthier, given I might be sacrificing flavor. So I ordered broccolini and it unfortunately came soaked in oil. My wife's sea bass was inadequately seasoned. Dessert special was a pavlova- and it was very good. Service was good. Personally, I think an entree should come with vegetable and starch for one price.

   Tasting dishes as part of the tasting menu that were from MM’s Egyptian cuisine cookbook was the highlight.

   Another excellent dinner with exceptional service. Only issue was loud patrons a few tables away from us constantly getting up squealing while posing for selfies

   Bar and cocktail selection is excellent. Service was disappointing. Waited 30 minutes to be seated even with reservations. Staff seemed overwhelmed. Dinner menu selection is limited. The cauliflower entree was unique and good. The salmon and rice came scooted to the edge of an otherwise empty plate. Birthday celebration not acknowledged. Glad we tried it.

   This was our 2nd visit to Wit & Wisdom, and we enjoyed it just as much as our first visit. We were greeted warmly by Trisha who set the tone perfectly with her friendly demeanor, scoring us a great table where we could see all of the action but still have quiet conversation as well. Our drinks were on point. We went with a couple of the house signature cocktails, which there are a good selection of. Our server Dylan pointed out a few of the best dishes as we looked over the menu. We went with the crab and endive Caesar, bomba pizza, and the salmon. All were good but the Cesar was excellent. Great service, creative cocktails, and tasty food. We’ll definitely return on our next trip up to Sonoma.

   We love the endive with crab salad, lobster pot pie and the duck wings here! The service is spot on too!

    Our meal was disappointing at best. We ordered the Calabrian pizza with a honey drizzle and it was coated in honey so that’s all you could taste. We shared a ribeye and the server highly encouraged us to add on Alaskan king crab. It literally was 3 smaller than 1/2 a pencil size pieces with very little actual crab meat. The ribeye was very salty and fat hadn’t rendered so there were solid pieces of fat. I took a friend there from out of town and it was a very poor showing for my lovely city of Sonoma.
