    The food was excellent and good value for money. The drinks were a little expensive but that may have been what we had.

    Even if you book a table you have to queue to order your food. I ordered 2 cheese toasties and sat down to wait, after 30 minutes I enquired how much longer they would be and told another 20 minutes. A hour had passed and a table that had come in after us received there's so I asked where ours was. The girl went to ask and said another 5 minutes. When they came the food was OK but expected more filling for £8.50. Salad was extra if you wanted that.

    I booked an Afternoon Tea as a birthday treat for a friend. We were hoping for the same value and experience enjoyed at a previous visit two years ago. No open sandwiches were available nor scotch eggs. Neither of us enjoyed pulled pork in a sausage roll. There was no other choice. Both the savoury and sweet food presented on the same plate. In addition the scones were hard. The assistant offered me a reduction for the lack of sandwiches but we both left disappointed.

    The setting and the service was good the food was edible but I have had better. Ordered cheese and onion toastie but the toast was a bit burnt and there was too many onions which made it a bit soft. The chocolate brownie was also a bit dry.

    The open sandwich was very good, smoked salmon and cucumber. However the toasted sandwich was overcooked so the crust was black and being sourdough very hard and difficult to cut. The cakes were delicious.

    Despite booking a table they had run out of nearly all of the choices by 1.30pm. I settled for bananas on toast which was saturated in maple syrup and then covered with what appeared like porridge oats - inedible. We were both looking forward to a nice lunch as I had been before but it would appear they have changed completely but not for the better. So disappointed.

    A great place to eat. The range of food was very good, the presentation was good and all served quickly and politely. I recommend this, a good experience.
