   This was our Ohana’s first time trying the Saturday seafood buffet. We tried the Friday and Sunday buffet and it was ok to good on both. The first thing I’d like to say is, it’s about time someone made a buffet style in Hilo. Claps and high fives for whoever’s idea this was. Good job. I just have a couple of cretics, first would be the location of the pupus or appetizer area. It’s too close to each other. No division, so those who want to go straight to the main looks like they are cutting line. Secondly, would be the temperatures of the dishes. Everything was cold. I don’t know if they have checkers who check on the shafting dishes flame on the bottom of them but I don’t think they changed them out since we were there. They brought out new batches of crab but it was like it was just kept warm because as soon as you reached the table, it was already cold. Prime rib was under the heating light but still also cold. WHY? Lastly, the dessert, I must say it was a little pathetic. Walked up to just 6 choices, one being cookies, WOW! So there were all the flavors of cakes, only, and then the norm- Sunday maker area with 5 topping; canned strawberries, chocolate fudge is what I’m guessing it was because it wasn’t hot, caramel and sprinkles. They could have at least tried to provide more options or even cut fresh strawberries. That would have pushed it a little over the top, it’s a lot better than canned strawberries. But I guess it’s the thought that counts. Overall, I felt like we got robbed, only reason being that they do not offer Kamaʻaina rate for Friday or Saturday buffets but they do for Sunday brunches. Also it’s a so called fine dining restaurant but their customer service and food mentality is more of a casual, laid back restaurant. Due to the cold food, my daughter and I had a hard time finding our appetite’s. My husband on the other hand ate his best. I just hope they fine tune these simple issues. Maybe then ratings of 5’s will come flying in🙏🏽 Keep trying!

   Lorraine was an exception waitress and server. Food was excellent and plentiful. The ribs were tasty as was the butter fish. We could it believe how large the servings were. And yes, hats off for the excellent Portuguese bean soup and clam chowder. Very authentic!! Can’t wait to return.

   The staff is very professional and polite, quick to clear extra plates on tables and they take their time to make sure we have everything we need. The food is constantly replenished and it was a great experience!

   Went for a birthday celebration and added it to the notes when booking the reservation there was nothing special. It was seafood buffet and prime rib. The crab that should’ve been warm was frozen. By the time you got to the table your butter was cold. I asked for the prime rib to be cooked just a little more because other buffets do it and I was told he was unable too.

   I am glad that the Friday and Saturday buffet was brought back. Everything that I do not usually eat when going out was always available. Arriving early was also a great choice as we were able to get a table overlooking the bay. Servers, waiters, waitresses were plentiful, so there was always someone to clear the empty plates, refill drinks, as well as the cold and hot line.

   It was a fabulous Saturday evening for our 43rd Anniversary! Great service & food!! There were so many delicious choices - your on top of it all, presentation, fresh, hot & delicious everything we tried was spectacular! Everyone was so kind & attentive wishing us a Happy Anniversary too. Thank you & Mahalo for making our night a memorable one we will cherish always J&L

   Besides them not having our reservation that we made through there online system they were still able to accommodate a table for us, we enjoyed the food but wish we had a different server, our server didn’t come check on us or see if we needed anything once; even to get our check we waited for our waitress for a good 45min before she came and asked if we were ready for our check

   The service from beginning to end was great! Our cups were always filled and once we finished our plates, they were right there to collect them. All of their staff were extremely friendly and ensured we were enjoying every part of our evening. The food was amazing as usual! There were so many choices that you had to try at least a little bit of everything. Everything was cooked perfectly and the crab legs and prime rib were just like before. Loved the addition of a themed evening (Hawaiian food on Friday and seafood bonanza on Saturday). So glad they brought the buffet back! We needed something like this in Hilo.

    We had never had the seafood buffet, but it was so nicely presented- the food was perfectly prepared and a great assortment of choices. Highly recommend!!
