Firs time at Xiquet and glad to special event with El Chato from Bogota. Being a DC Michelin star, I was expecting more overall. I was expecting better flavors and taste. The beef wellington and carrot cake were amazing, but everything else was okay. Some things like the fish I wish was seasoned more. Some of the palate cleansers were way too sour. No harmony or flow to the dishes. I was expecting a better experience, like a chef's table, maybe? Instead of food being made in the kitchen and brought to our table, I wish we could have experienced it being prepped. I did like that Chef Danny was there, and he presented one of the courses himself. I also liked that we started the evening with a small shot and snack at the entrance, then seated for the meal, and lastly moved for the dessert into the lounge. The restaurant was dated, except the lounge and bathroom which were updated and modern. The dining area could use an update in terms of furniture. Additionally, from an accessibility side, there is no elevator or ramp. The restaurant is in a 3 story building, with a coat check downstairs, a lounge in the middle, and a dining room at the top. I even asked someone what they would do if someone was not able to walk up the stairs? He joked he would carry them on his back. Lastly, we were bothered by the a/c. It was 30 F outside, why was the a/c on? A final note that bothered me, which I also noticed on the website. There is a 20% service charge, which is fine, I don't care for a service charge. But, the staff and the website both said: "Service Fee and Tip In order to ensure that our team earns a competitive wage, a 20% service fee will be added to the final bill. This fee is not a tip." ....the food is not cheap here. Our bill for 3 came close to $1200. How is that not ensuring the team is getting a competitive wage?

An absolute pleasure to dine here. The attention to detail, the note cards (you’ll have to see what this means) and the staff is wonderful. The food was fantastic enough, but our server really completed the evening. Michael was a total delight and we would come back just to dine with him again!

Enjoyed the Iberico, it an absolute gem and rare treat The wine pairings were thoughtful and world class paired, I can absolutely see why they have the sommelier award from Michelin. Mezzanine service at the end was a pleasant surprise, good place to do business or have a romantic evening. Plenty of after dinner options for port and madeira. Thank you again for the hospitality Chef and team.

This was phenomenal, my wife and I had to stay in town for thanksgiving and needed a pick me up the day before. This did not disappoint, reminded me of eating my Spanish grandmothers food. Paella was phenomenal, I am so glad we opted for the Premium Prawn Rice, it was very umami and so authentic. It was an absolutely beautiful experience, the food was delicious and beautiful, very thoughtful portions, we left full but not overly stuffed. The staff was polite, professional and funny. We will absolutely return and strongly recommend.

This is my third time to Xiquet, but far from my last. The food was exquisite and perfectly paired with the wines. Service was thoughtful and timely, without rush or unnecessary delays. Simply outstanding.

Service at the restaurant fell very short of expectations. Surprising as communication in advance was impressive. They made every effort to understand food allergies and respect food preferences. Suggest you bring your own wine and pay the corkage fee. The wine options are stunningly expensive.

Disappointing for a Michelin starred restaurant. Food was OK, service was awkward and really just fair overall. There were exceptions of both food and service that were very good, but they were few and far between. Will not return, nor recommend.

This was an experience to remember!! The food was amazing and very well curated. I left not too full and certainly satisfied. I especially enjoyed the iberico and the prawn paella. We had the wine pairing which I can see why they won the sommelier guide, they were uncommon varieties yet and I appreciated the time and care they took to explain each course.
