   The food at Zicatela was truly excellent fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The setting is gorgeous and the ambiance is perfect for a relaxed afternoon near the ocean. I chose this place to celebrate my mother’s birthday, and the food definitely lived up to the moment. That said, the service left a lot to be desired. Our server didn’t introduce himself, didn’t offer any recommendations, and seemed disengaged the entire time. When I tried to mention it was my mom’s birthday and ask if anything special could be done, I was cut off with a quick “yes” and no follow-up, which felt dismissive. What really surprised me, though, was when I tipped $370 pesos—despite the lackluster service—and as I was leaving, the server stopped me and gave it back, saying “that’s not even enough to pay for my living expenses to work here.” I was honestly shocked. Tipping is optional and based on service, and I still tipped generously. That comment soured what was otherwise a beautiful experience. I hope management sees this as an opportunity to improve consistency in service. The food and location are worth five stars—but kindness, attentiveness, and gratitude go a long way, especially when people choose your restaurant to celebrate meaningful moments.

   The best place we ate at during our stay in Punta Mita. We found it the last night but we would have gone back multiple times. Beautiful beach seating, wonderful staff and Amazing food. worth every penny.

   This dining experience did not disappoint. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the ambience and view was nourishing. My only complaint is that we would have preferred to listen to Mexican music rather than what they were playing.

   I have been here many times and it was exceptional. Last night not so. Food as always was wonderful however service was lacking. When we got seated (I had reserved an outside table) we were seated inside. Our waiter was stretched to the point he really couldn’t take care of us. Wine I ordered, not available. They brought the wrong starter to my wife. We then had to wait for it to come and the cheese part was cold and not cooked through as they rushed it. Mains took a very long time. Seems the overcommitted without enough staff. Going back again next week. Hope it’s better.

   Perfect late lunch, early birthday dinner! Such a pretty spot on the beach, watched the surf & boats. Food was incredible original dishes from areas of Mexico. Cocktails were perfect, our servers Ivan & Jaime were the best !

   Excelente restaurante frente a la orilla del mar de Punta Mita, los platillos son de buen tamaño y porción. Estaría fenomenal pudieran agregar un par de entradas más variadas, al igual tener algun sommelier que pudiera apoyar con la seleccion de un buen vino. Nuestra experiencia fue muy buena.
