~AUTHENTIC JAPANESE CUISINE INSPIRED BY HAWAII'S FRESH & LOCAL INGREDIENTS~
We created ZIGU in order to share our passion for fine cuisine with the people of Hawaii.
We have been fortunate to acquire the perfect building for our restaurant. The restaurant was once a wooden low-riseApartment building which was constructed in 1939. This has allowed us to create a cozy atmosphere that wouldn’t have beenpossible in a more modern building.

The key to the perfect dining experience is fresh local ingredients, prepared by chefs dedicated to the art of cooking. Here at ZIGU, you will enjoy dishes such as juicy Japanese omelettes made with fresh local eggs, sushi made from freshly caught fish.We also have SAKE and Shochu varieties that perfectly complement these dishes.

    I had reservations for 7:45pm, was seated at 7:50 and didn’t get water to my table or have anyone stop by until I had to physically get up and call someone over even with the tables next to me and my date being serviced. No one checked in at all until I got up at 8:10 to ask for help. Loud environment and pricey for the food that you get

    The food was good but I didn’t think it was worthy of being the best izakaya or best overall Japanese food on the island. A little expensive for what you get.

    We were seated at a terrific table plants all around the food was excellent, and our server was very accommodating. She did a great job.

    Wonderful food, great setting, excellent helpful staff (Garrett offered great food suggestions). They have a large vegetarian menu (ask for if needed).

    Fantastic experience! Daniel the host took great care of us when we ended up coming late from North Shore. Garret, our server was very attentive, and even grabbed us our parking validation when he gave us our check. Great service and even better food! The miso on the salmon is out of this world! Maybe a little too much kale with the ahi haha! Overall fantastic experience!
