Owner Donnette Hansen's attention to detail is reflected in everything from the comfortable refined log cabin setting & landscaped grounds to the seasonally changing menus. Insider's tip: go for the business lunch ($19 for three courses). Sophisticated but not stuffy! Menu hits include elk chops, grilled buffalo tenderloin, Lodge smoked duck gumbo. Do not miss the famous TIED FLY BAR! with its crafted cocktails and views of an acre of grounds, the bar is the most popular seat in the house.     The restaurant was as expected as we eat here occasionally. It is lovely. Our waitress was pleasant and informative. She even provided a not too sweet cocktail for a member of our party. Upon receiving our entrees, I was served halibut instead of short ribs. I like halibut, so told her the substitution was fine, she said it was he input error. I just didn't want people waiting for me to be served, their food getting cold, or me eating after everyone. I had never had short ribs. It was a disappointment. There was no adjustment was made on our bill. I did not ask that one be made. I've worked in the food service industry, and one should have been made as a curtesy.

    It is always a wonderful experience at Rainbow Lodge. The food, the ambiance, and the service are always top-notch. It has a warm, cozy rustic cabin feel inside. When the weather is great, the surroundings are beautiful. It’s a gem in our city, and a great place to go anytime, and especially when celebrating a special occasion.

    The rainbow lodge always presents well executed dishes. Each cut of meat was cooked to perfection, and the desserts were devine. I would highly recommend the Rainbow lodge for anyone’s dining pleasure.

    Service was great. The restaurant has a great ambiance. In my opinion Houston has much better fine dining establishments. The food was good but not amazing. Small portions for the price. Spent $320 for a party of two and could have had more.

    Beautiful restaurant! It was a cozy atmosphere! We ordered the rolls and the pear appetizer and enjoyed both of them! However the main dishes we ordered were okay. I ordered the rainbow trout with crab topping and my husband ordered the scallops. Both dishes needed more seasoning. The dishes were just underwhelming. Finally, the staff were excellent! Everyone working there was so friendly and welcoming. We would try the restaurant again.

    The entire family had New Year’s Eve dinner and it was fantastic. The food was delicious, great portions and very flavorful. The desserts were a perfect way to cap off a beautiful evening and start a brand new year. The staff was friendly and very accommodating to questions about the menu and food. Our server who was from Australia was 10 out of 10!!
