Service was OK but not great, but the food was exceptional. Great flavours, and everything was perfectly cooked.

This is the second time that we have visited The Cyder House - and we returned because we had very much enjoyed our first visit. The place was packed on a Saturday lunchtime, but the service remained personal and exemplary. The menu is interesting and the food delicious. Congratulations to the kitchen staff, and to those at front of house. I am sure that we will return.

We popped in for an anniversary dinner with our little dog. The food and service was very good and we would have no problem recommending this pub to others. I had the Cottage pie with vegetables and my husband had the Hunters Chicken with chips and coleslaw . Both were good portions and very tasty although the chicken was a little tough. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our evening by the roaring fire which was lovely.

Lovely food, wonderful staff and a warm welcoming atmosphere. I grew up in the area when the star pub was the community centre, with the lovely refurb they did a couple years I can see it being that again with the added bonus of it now a quality bistro/gastro pub!

First visit to the Acorn for Sunday roasts and it was just wow. The food, staff and restaurant was amazing. Bruce came and chatted at our table, he’s knowledge, experience and passion is captivating and it was a real pleasure talking to him about food. Thank you to all the staff at the acorn for a really lovely Sunday afternoon. We loved it so much we rebooked for the next Friday night and can see us visiting often. This restaurant is a must visit if you love quality food.
