Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Sugar Factory American Brasserie in Atlanta offers a vibrant and lively atmosphere, perfect for celebrations. While guests rave about the "fantastic food and amazing drinks," service can be hit or miss. It's a family-friendly spot, though some patrons noted a lack of air conditioning and menu item availability. The ambiance is ideal for birthday celebrations, but be prepared for potential wait times.

Unfortunately we reserved a table, waited about 45 minutes to get seated and just decided to leave. We’ll try another location one day

My food came after everyone in my party ate. They couldn’t accommodate us with our appetizer which was just a Cesar salad. But it was for my daughters’ bday so I didn’t want to ruin her bday, but I thought the manager could have been more accommodating due to all the food issues we experienced.

What’s the point of having a reservation if you still have to wait for over an hour to be seated? Then to be told that they ran out of certain popular menu items. Bathrooms were disgusting. Manager was rude and incompetent, but our server was wonderful and the only silver lining to this less than subpar experience. We will not be back.

If you like loud, outgoing, entertaining dining. This is the place for you. However if you don’t, I would steer clear. If you are claustrophobic, easily overstimulated, Noise sensitive do not go here. Although very entertaining for birthdays, anyone under the age of 7 probably better find yourself a better restaurant to celebrate. The moment we walked in we tripped and almost got hurt by the revolving door. Due to Christmas decor blocking the entrance made it hard to enter and exit, honestly a fire hazard and overall dangerous. The food was good, but not good enough given the outrageous price. If you expect to come in, eat, enjoy it a little then leave. Go elsewhere. We waited upwards to 30 minutes after we got seated to even get a drink order in. Then only half our tables food came out. Some were done eating entirely before other member of our party even got their food. Not to mention being given a fork to eat soup with.. seriously? I agree the staff could be over whelmed since it looked like they were running from table to table. But as the manager said “we are very busy” then maybe hire some additional staff? Excuses such as these, coming from a manager made it clear to us that they could give two craps about helping you celebrate any special occasion and just take your money after adding a high gratuity to larger parties, regardless of the level of service you receive. Will not be dining here again.

The food tasted fine once it came out, but it took forever for everyone to get their food and one of our guests did not get her food until 45 minutes after everyone else had received theirs and our waiter was terrible. He had very rude etiquette. he was not very nice at all and we had five children with us And overall he does not need to be in the food industry if he doesn’t have a better attitude.

We booked this reservation for my daughter’s 19th birthday against my better judgement; however, she was adamant about going to the Sugar Factory to celebrate her milestone. I booked the reservation and prior to arrival, we explored the menu and already knew what we were all going to get. We were ready!! We arrived last night and was seated immediately. After 10 minutes we wondered why no one had come to the table to greet us but still we waited. After another 5 minutes or so a polite waitress approached and commenced to take our order, we didn’t need any time to ponder. My daughter ordered first, the Signature burger. The waitress replied that they had been extremely busy during the weekend and didn’t have hamburgers. I asked “what do you have”, just to simplify the process. She then stated they didn’t have hamburgers, shrimp, sliders, and a slew of other items. Basically, they shouldn’t have been open and if they were going to be open it would have been professional and courteous to set the expectations ‘up front’ . Being that it was my daughter’s special day I didn’t want to ruin the milestone so I tried to recover and suggest she just order the specialty smoky drink that she was looking forward to and she immediately replied that she would prefer to leave because she didn’t see fit to support a business that handled such situations so poorly. We decided to leave and due to the late hour, our options were a bit scarce; however, we still had a wonderful night eating Steak and Shake as a family from the comfort of our home, giving God the glory for blessing my daughter with another year of life. Do better Sugar Factory!!
