   The food was generally fine, they had high quality steaks and sides, standard wine selection, and everything came out pretty fast. We didn’t like how salty the mushrooms were, but it was no issue since they took it off the bill. It was a bit busy and noisy in the dining room and I had to remind on multiple occasions to refresh my wine, so that was a bit annoying but not terrible. The deserts were a bit disappointing, but we didn’t complain because they were of good quality, just not something we expected. We paid the bill and left happily…only to get a call from the restaurant two minutes after we left and were waiting for our Waymo in the freezing wind. The guy called and asked if we stole a candle from our table. I said no we didn’t and he paused for a few seconds and replied – yes, you’re fine it’s under the table. That call ruined our evening and we will never ever go back to this place again. Our bill was over $1,000 without tip and taxes. Good luck, Niku! Hope you go out of business soon.

   One of the best steaks in San Francisco. The Japanese steaks are so Fricken good😋. If you want great Japanese steaks. You gotta Go!!

   There’s a lot of overrated, overpriced fine dining in the city. This is not that. Every cent you pay for this meal is worth it, and the service is just excellent. I’ve never had a more thoughtful, delicious meal (aside from grandma’s, of course). My friend took me here for their birthday because it’s their favorite steak in the city, and it’s my favorite too. So delicious that I had to come back twice in one week! Plus, they are mindful and considerate of allergies and have an excellent bourbon and wine list. I love that it’s one of the few places that isn’t super cold—I can wear my cutest outfits here. Best steak I have ever had, every time. Don’t pass up those potatoes, either!

    My party of 4 was lucky enough to sit in the side room which was so comfy and secluded. We ordered nearly everything on the menu, the leftovers made for amazing breakfast. The table voted the short rib, bone marrow, sunchoke agnolotti and the pigs ears (pork candy!) as favorites. The amuse-bouche was also devine, I just don’t remember what it was. Every team member that visited our table was outstanding, particularly Megan, thank you! Can’t wait to come back!
