Jack Stack Barbecue originated in Kansas City in 1957, by Russ Fiorella in a traditional storefront barbecue, with a modest selection of 5 or 6 items. Jack Fiorella, the eldest son, worked with his father until 1974 when he decided to branch off and start Fiorella's Jack Stack of Martin City.

To stand out in the competitive KC barbecue scene of the mid 1970's, Jack and Delores, began cooking with Gourmet Hickory Wood and created the most extensive barbecue menu in the country. The menu included Certified Angus Beef steaks, tender chicken, award-winning lamb ribs, and mouth-watering sides like Hickory Pit Beans and Cheesy Corn Bake.

We have gone to the freight House location multiple times and the food is always wonderful. The only issue we have been having there is that salads that are ordered are not being brought out before the meal. We have had this happen two times in a row now. When we went to eat last night, I specifically requested that they bring the salad before the meal and what happened was the same thing as happened before: the salad came out and then three minutes later the meal came out so we ended up giving the salad back to them and telling them to take it off the bill because there’s no point in having the salad once the meal comes. I’ve come to the conclusion that if we eat at the freight house location, I can no longer order salads.

The food, atmosphere, and service was once again outstanding. It's a family tradition to come here before our annual Chiefs game and we look forward to coming back. Our waitress did a great job and everyone enjoyed their food.

Extremely busy Saturday early evening. We had a reservation for 5:15 and the wait for walk in was 90 minutes with several sporting events in town. We were seated at 5:20. Food (Roundup) was excellent. Waiter was outstanding. It was a little noisy but to be expected.

The bbq was incredible! Had the burnt end, pork rib, and lamb ribs. The lamb was actually the best I have had. So unique with the bbq. Burnt ends and ribs so tender. The jalapeño cornbread was so moist with the right amount of kick. Would definitely go again and recommend to anyone. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive and made good recs
