   My wife and I enjoyed a thoroughly sumptuous lunch at Numero 28 in Allen. We started with the Garlic Foccacia bread, a tasty bread seasoned with garlic and a hint of rosemary. We then had the Arancina Tradizionale, perhaps the best arancina we have ever had. The saffron risotto was full-bodied and flavorful. The Bolognese meat sauce perfectly complemented the appetizer. We then had the Alla Cesare with nicely shaved parmesan and a subtle dressing. My wife had the Spinach and Ricotta Cheese Ravioli, mouthwatering heavenly pasta packets of flavor and lightness. I had the Bucatini All'amatriciana, larger spaghetti served with a pork-based mildly-spicy tomato sauce. I loved the Italian umami of this dish so satisfying with the interplay of subtle seasoning and delectable richness. And as if it couldn't get any better, we opted for the Tiramisu. We both have eaten at exquisite restaurants all over the world, but we can categorically report that the best tiramisu we have ever had was here in beautiful Allen, Texas. Who knew? The wisps of coffee and cocoa energized our senses as we consumed this dream of a dessert. This smooth, soothing, decadent yet amazingly light dessert left us both replete. Put this restaurant on your list if you want authentic Italian fare expertly prepared and presented. There was love and joy in each dish!

   First time dining here and definitely not the last. The Carpaccio de Manzo (beef) was amazing. Likewise, the Polpette (veal meatballs) with house marinara sauce with melted cheese was very tasty and flavorful. The black ink Taglioini Fradiavolo seafood pasta with scallops and jumbo shrimp was superb. It’s as good if not better than the same dish served on the east coast. Everyone loved the Margarita (cheese pizza). Two thumbs up for cannoli. Our server provided friendly service. The owner Leo checked in with us to see if we liked our meals. Excellent meal overall and highly recommended

   We were excited to try a new Italian/pizza place to celebrate a birthday, but unfortunately we were a little disappointed. I think they may have been understaffed during a very busy time as it was challenging at times to find our waiter. The restaurant was packed at the time we went (630 on Saturday) So we thought that was a good sign. But it was a pretty small place and was very difficult to even get to your table or to your seat in some cases because you were packed in like sardines. It was loud and hard to hear, which even the food runner made the same comment. But for a lot of places these days, that is not uncommon and probably due to the amount of people in a small place. We were served cold overcooked calamari. This was mentioned to the waiter and he did apologize and remove it from our bill. The eggplant was mushy with little flavor. The lasagna was good. The meatballs were good. The spaghetti was good. The pizza was ok. The Charcuterie board was served with giant chunks of cheese that you had to cut yourself, which may be ok, we just weren’t used to that. We went for a birthday and they did offer a nice birthday dessert of mini cannolis with a flare candle. It was an overall nice place with friendly staff and they were accommodating. We may consider giving it another try at a less busy time.

   This was our first visit and restaurant was charming, owner greeted us very warmly. Food was very good but my husband's dish was lukewarm and not much flavor, so they offered to reheat but, instead, remade it and it was much better. Alex was great waiter - very attentive and wanted to make sure we were completely satisfied. We'll be back.
