Authentic French restaurants are few and far between these days but Bistro Pierre delivers in true Gallic style. You’ll find this vibrant, inner-city eaterie in the heart of Liverpool’s Cavern Quarter near the world famous Mathew Street, in an old warehouse building which with its wooden floors and exposed brickwork has readily transformed itself into a rustic French bistro. Service is relaxed, warm and friendly.

Food was fine, but portions are on the small side. There is a live music bar below so you get a continuous bass sensation pulsating through your chair. Restaurant itself was quiet and a bit shabby around the edges. Probably only half a dozen tables in when we were there. Service was fine. It’s been a good few years since we’ve been to a Bistrot Pierre and we were very disappointed compared to the standard we have experienced previously.

Beautiful ambience, busy yet retained an intimate atmosphere. Service was really lovely- attentive but not intrusive. Food was great and the live music was delightful. We will be back.

We were a group of five who had a variety of dishes from the menu and each of us were really happy with our choices. We have visited Bistro Pierre a number of times and are always impressed with the food we choose. I have to comment on the young man who waited our table yesterday 17th December. He was such a pleasant young man, smiling and making sure we had everything we needed. A credit to the restaurant. As usual I will be returning in the near future.

Been going here for years and it's never disappointed until last night. Very limited choice on Xmas menu and 2 choices unavailable. Chose from a la carte menu had veggie wellington- basically a pasty with no filling served with a bit of lettuce as potatoes and veg not included! £18 for a pasty! Hubby had beef beorginon which he's had many a time before - £20 for a watery stew. Daughter had steak - very fatty. Ordered portion of chips which were not pomme frites and a tiny portion. Totally devastated as this is my all time favourite resturant. Even the a la carte menu has limited choice of food. Wine very expensive and only choice of 2 wines by the glass. Staff were friendly but service quite slow.

Having eaten at Bistro Pierre for many years and been extremely happy with the food ,the service and the ambience this visit went badly wrong early doors as upon arrival the staff were very apologetic but advised that there were no Roasts available and there was only one portion of duck left out .I do not eat quiche . . My companion does not eat fish and so we were left with no alternative ( other than walking out ) but to order duck for my companion and salmon for me . Subsequent diners who were sitting close by were clearly offered chicken as a main course which did not go down too well as we finished our restricted mains . Why were we not offered chicken as a main ? This completely took the edge off the evening .End of rant .

We travelled from Derby to Liverpool for a girlie weekend. Booked in advance and was looking forward to the festive menu. Arrived to be told, we couldn’t have that as they had been too busy and items had sold out. Looked at the main menu which was more expensive and not a lot of option. The girls ordered beef bougion and loved it. I had the lamb medallions with daulphine potatoes. My lamb was burnt and crispy and the veg was crunchy for £25.50 I only ate half. We complained to the manager who was rude and blamed us for not leaving if we wanted the festive menu. They did take 10 percent off the bill but that was only a few pounds. All in all very disappointing. Pierre’s is our favourite restaurant in Derby and always excels, sorry Liverpool but your just not on the same level in every aspect, the setting, the staff, the service or the food.

Restaurant is beautiful and very well decorated. The food was absolutely delicious and well cooked and the staff very attentive. The only thing that spoiled the ambiance was that staff had to repeatedly go into a stock room off the restaurant right next to our table and it had really bright lights. Staff left the door open twice so this light was just shining straight into our eyes, completely ruining the ambiance . Other than that it was a fabulous meal and we would definitely go again.

It has been some years since we last dined at Bistro Pierre and we were very disappointed and told the staff this, but they just said sorry. Firstly Starter order was wrong, waitress apologised for pushing wrong option on screen. Meant my wife had to eat her starter on her own. Secondly Main Meal came wrong, wife had asked for fries not boiled patatoes. Her meal went away and came back with just fries and Salmon. The veg provided had just 2 small potatoes with Carots and greens. Not asked if we wanted any sauces. Neadless to say my turkey had gone cold. At no point did anyone ask if our food was fine. A desert was ordered and this came ok. When we requested the bill our thoughts were relayed to a different waiter who just apologised. Overall the experience was not to the standard we had known in the past as this had been one of our favourite restaurants. The atmosphere is not the same french style, including no french tapes in the toilets. The staff were not intense with service provided. All this means that we will give Bistro Pierre a miss in future.
