First time experiencing Monarca. Nice atmosphere and friendly people but it was average in terms of service. Started off with house margaritas that were well done. Partner have salad which was sooo huge. Nice dressing and good avocados on top. Next time we will split. I had the tortilla soup that was very flavorful with just a touch of heat. Partner had the carnitas that we prepared the way she liked and again too much for one person, will split next time. I had the halibut which was just a tiny bit too fishy (but acceptable) laid in a sauce that I could only described as a creamy delight, so flavorful and perfect heat level and the cuttlefish (inked) tortillas are perfect accompaniment. Had a white wine but was a little too citrus-acidic for my palate. I had my mouth set for Crema Strawberries that was on the on-line menu but the server was unaware and said it may have been on and old menu. Not a fan of flaun or churros so skipped dessert. We will return to explorer more of their offerings in the future.

My experience at Monarca was overall a great date night experience. We were greeted well and taken care of through out our dinner service. The wait time for our food was about 10-15 minutes even though the restaurant was pretty full. Though so not long of a wait time for our food. I will say that for it being an upscale Mexican restaurant they do a well job of maintaining the Mexican quality in the taste of the food. Overall great experience at monarca for date night and first time there!

We ordered the Lobster Tacos, the special (a large beef short rib with sweet potato mash), and the grilled octopus starter. The Lobster Tacos were amazing and the special was amazing; a substantial amount of food. We’d not order the octopus again. It was flavorful, but was just a tentacle, cubes of sweet potato, and two basic potatoes with onions. The ingredients all felt separate and not incorporated together. The large tentacle was not prepared in a way that would make it easy to consume. Our service was exceptional!

Our second trip for both couple! So good!! We had guacamole with chips and Queso, so good. The street corn dip fantastic. The dishes we had were shrimp tacos, Lamb, Chicken mole, Braise beef ribs! So good! Everything was excellent! Margarita were so good and smoke bourbon cocktail! We highly recommend, Everything fresh , homemade!!

The Host was immediate in welcoming us and asking about any prior visits. Server was very attentive, made suggestions upon our requests, was knowledgeable about the menus and ingredients and able to pair libations with our entrees. Thank you for a delicious and palate pleasing experience.
