   My name is Dr. Don Arnette, I’ve been to the The Mexican multiple times. Unfortunately, this was the worst experience due to Victor Willis. I was wearing slacks and a Dolce Gabbana cashmere sweater which said Dolce Gabbana on the front in small print. Mr. Willis said I was out of dress code, he called my cashmere sweater a graphic Tshirt. He told me to put on a very inexpensive sports coat and referred me to the website where it clearly states graphic Tshirts and hats are prohibited. This ensemble really diminished the upscale environment they are seeking. I found it very interesting that Mr. Willis was not interested in enforcing the dress code on non African American patrons. I saw at least 3 men wearing cowboy hats in the bar area. My wife and I were the only African American patrons visible at that time. This selective enforcement of the dress code as well as his extremely loose definition of a graphic T shirt was very disappointing. For the record, Dolce Gabbana does not manufacture graphic cashmere sweaters. I’ll be sure to inform my social network about this disparaging treatment of African Americans at The Mexican. Very disappointed.

   First time at The Mexican. Seated at 4pm, opening time. By 4:30 it was bustling and most of the tables were beginning to fill. Attentive staff from arrival through departure. Food was excellent, came out in a very reasonable time. Drinks were very well made and chose those over something from the desert menu. Will definitely return. If there was anything to quibble about, the table for my party of 2 was 'best available' and it did feel like a bit of battle for real estate on the table top for available space. That said, I would recommend The Mexican easily to anyone who wants to try an upscale experience in a high energy location. The decor and lighting are on point. Dress nicely, please.

   Went to The Mexican for my birthday. I ordered the Del Mar Enchilada Trio which was really good’ I just wish it was served with rice.! Drink of choice was the Amor Apasionado (10/10). Towards the end my partner had them bring out dessert which was a Cuatro Leches. The cake was delicious’ I would definitely order again in the future.

   My visit to The Mexican in Dallas started off well but quickly took a disappointing turn. The food did not meet expectations, but the attentive service initially made up for it—until it didn’t. After finishing our meal and paying in full, we stayed briefly to finish our drinks and wrap up our conversation. Despite this, the manager stared at us for about 10 minutes before approaching with a curt "you ready," implying we needed to leave immediately. To make matters worse, he fabricated a scenario involving the busser, accusing us of not paying, which was completely untrue. What could have been a positive experience turned into one of the worst I’ve had in a long time. Others seated in the same area at the same time were not treated this way, adding to the feeling of unfair treatment. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place based on my visit.

   We just hosted a company event at The Mexican, and it was amazing! Our event was on the Lower Terrace, but we also got to enjoy dining in the regular seating area. Both spaces were fantastic, and the service was top-notch. Caylie was my point of contact before the event, and she was so helpful and professional—she really made the whole evening a breeze! In the dining area, Andre was our waiter, and he absolutely nailed it. He was super kind, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Out on the Lower Terrace, Vanessa, Sosa, and the rest of the team were incredible. They took care of every little detail and made the event feel effortless. This was our fourth annual company event, but our first time at The Mexican, and it totally set a new standard for us. It’s officially our go-to spot for future events. Highly recommend checking it out—whether you're planning something big or just grabbing dinner, you won’t be disappointed!
